You have done a fabulous job on my Dads old radio. It’s lovely to hear it now after all these years. It had been relegated to the dusty garage for many years
Hi Rod, I work a lot with hot chassis radios and more often than not I do fit them with a bluetooth module. I have made a circuite for the purpose, consisting of a small mains power supply, a bluetooth module and an output network to provide adaption to the radio's amplifier circuit. It all fits on a small PCB (8x7.8 cm) and can be mounted inside the radio cabinet. It runs directly from the 230V mains supply and is completely isolated from the radio chassis.
Happy days. I think the Bluetooth mods are essential for practicality and usability, and easy to reverse later if one is that way inclined, or if advancing technology makes the whole thing redundant. It's great too that you go to such lengths to get the original set working first.
Great job! One question, can you still use the phono output if you wish to plug in a turntable, tape player, etc., or does the Bluetooth connection renders that option obsolete?
I haven't tried this , but would expect one to interfere with the other and would therefore incorporate a switch to disconnect the Bluetooth input, while an alternate input was being used.
IT is only very recently i found your RU-vid channel the restoration work is excellent ,Look like you are the one who posted the shut down of RTE long wave and thanks for doing so , How can one contact you ? again thanks
