Thank Ultimate Grand Master Dionisio Diony Canete for visiting us in Catarman Northern Samar and sharing your skills and knowledge, its an honor to meet you in person, and to all other Masters... long live. :)
Fun fact. One of the young Guros in this video is (now) Grandmaster Erwin Mosqueda from Los Angeles Doce Pares. I can tell you from experience he’s forgotten more eskrima than most of us will ever learn. A true martial arts great.
Me gustó éste tutoirial, es lo máximo; bien practicado nos puede librar de una situación inevitable (que no sea con arma de fuego). Por sea caso haré andar una vara en mi vehículo. Gracias por compartir estos conocimientos de forma gratuita.
This video helps me even i didn't see the guy defending thingy cause it makes sense to me. All of the video was educational and you can learn it in a barehand variation. And my friend told me that the other hand is for grappling or blocking the hand of the attacker. Edit : I'm on half on the video and i can say that is like an advanced espada y daga. (Counter strikes) Edit : The flywheel is my 13th basic strike. Edit : My friend told me about the wrist, you need to reach your finger to reach your forearm.
The arnis taught to us is, strike left head(ear side) , right head(ear side) , left hips, rights hips, up strike to balls then strike then fontanel(upper of the head) and stab at the edge of the arnis in the forehead. In that, imagine that like a katha in karate. Do it many times, there is a block for it.
Can Someone explain the taget Areas for1,3 and 11? Also 2,4 and 12? Looks the same to me, aside from small height differences... Is It Head, Neck and again head, just 45 degrees?
I've trained Doce Pares in Australia for the last 20 years under 2 GMs and under the late SGM Cacoy Canete and the strikes and blocks sequences vary considerably from our style . I realise there are many ways to adjust striking and blocking so am just curious which school you are under and whether you are based in the Philippines or USA .. otherwise interesting
yeah , look, wushu as is tai chi, a great form of exercise and if trained under a knowledgeable instructor has some good self defense attached to it.As for the escrima , it can be a nice "sport" but its' application in self defense is almost second to none as the adaptation to empty hand is a logical transition without great variation... 🙏👍
