Nice to know i'm not the only once obsessed with using magnets for everything :D

Has progress been made on this design? This is a perfect solution for multi-extrusion, multi-tool; all in a light-weight design

I don't even think I need to say how cool this is.

amaizing idea. Currently have a setup with front magnets, but side one looks even better.

I wanna make one for my hyper cube but i'm really depressed and sleepy ;-; I should probably finish my levitating extruder first. EIDT: made one and it works so freaking stunningly.

That would be amazing if it was a cnc cutter, having many different size bits and having the ability to change as it needs

I have an idea you could try let’s say one filament ends it just detects it and changes to the next available

I love how you did this. I would love incorporate that into my Tevo Black Widow, but that would be a challenge to say the least, but it could be done. But very damn good job on your design. Continue to follow your dreams, and you could become the next Josef Prusa.

No, this is not possible with i3 style printers. Rather it is cheaper and easierto solve the problems with a print head moving the the xy plane. so much so you might as well build another printer

Hey Rene Jurack - If you're able to see this / check a comment on an older video - Was this printer running on a Duet Board? If so is it at all possible to contact you in regards to maybe sharing code etc? I have a system with a mechanical lock for picking up the new tool but - im not great with Gcode and having some issues - Wish these things just could run on C or C++ - would be done in an afternoon lol. Is there a way to contact you? Many thanks!

how do you have no stringing. i have a fan directly on my nozzle point underneath (of course) but here you are not a single string in sight with no fan. Of course this is very impressive and its inspiring
@ReneJurack
@ReneJurack 4 года назад
Don‘t use your fan to much. Also, keeping your nozzle perpendicular to the printbed is important to achieve no stringing. Generally spoken: probably printing to hot. Just keep trying 👍

у напечатанных деталей невысокая точность и быстрый износ и сильные изменения от воздействия температуры, нужно над этим поработать.
@ReneJurack

Евгений Владимиров thankfully, this is called a „prototype“ back from 2016 - still worked better than anything else at this time 🤣

Is there a reason you used a priming tower even though you have two separate hotends?
@joshmattozzi9383
@joshmattozzi9383 6 лет назад
most likely for the oozing when the hotend is idle

Do you have some info how to get the firmware to execute such a tool change? Are you using Marlin? Thanks
@ReneJurack
@ReneJurack 6 лет назад
It is all done by the slicer. There is no tool-offset or toolchangescript set in the firmware besides the pure pin-definitions of the different IOs. I do it this way on purpose, this way my concept isn‘t limited by firmware. Any major firmware is capable of doing this, though I never worked with marlin in personal.

up to 5 heads are easy to do. More and you need a board with extensions.

changeable toolheads have been around for ever, just not for 3d printing. Not to take away credit for this work, it's not an easy thing to do.
