I had one question. what's difference between the multiple TF and adding seperate indicator and changing the Timeframe dropdown at the bottom of in the input settings in the indicators. I know it is limitted to single TF. I wanted to hear to your thoughts on this. Thanks again.
Seems like a lot of boilerplate to avoid some "repainting" issues, don't understand why a strategy would behave differently on historical and live data by default and such glutches would be needed to avoid problems.
Because TV uses only 5 data points to build a chart (OHLCV). If your logic open a position in a bar Open an your SL, TP or both get inside that bar because this bar ends up being too big TV doesn’t know which level (SL or TP) triggered first. TV doesn’t have the intra bar move of that bar. It can be simulated, but is a technical issue in TV backtesting system.
@@chechelcWell they should obviously fix it and have different variables for intrabar high and low instead of requiring such glutches from the end user side.
@@cyberfunk3793 I’m with you about it. In this case the strong TV sell point became it’s weakness. More robust backtesting platforms don’t even provide data… this is a price we paid for “free” or “mainstream” platform.
Hey Matt! would be really interested in watching you go in-depth on deep backtesting not only within trading view but for a strategy overall in terms of out of sample/in-sample data, how you create a strategy for long term efficacy using the strategy backtester , avoiding overfitting and possibly using real test. Hi Matt! How would you do to enter in position if these 2 conditions are true. First a cross of mooving average for exemple. Then wait for two green candle after the cross. I'm struggling with this... thanks
