This is very solid multitool, one of the best in it's category (full-sized folding knife + pliers), the scissors are particularly well-executed, definitely recommend this tool if you find it for a good price (low $20s).

Yes. I loved this knife as a kid. I didn't know you could still get them. Back then it was marketed as a tool for mountain climbers, because its easy to use with one hand, and you could tie it to yourself. Miss that thing.

Nice review. I have this knife and I now feel gypped - my version has a can opener instead of those scissors. I believe yours, with the scissors, is the version oriented towards anglers. Thanks for the video!

I love one handed multi tools. I've had this tool for 2 years now. I love it. I dont use the pliers much but i know it's their when i need it.

Say Heah Is, I have a old vintage Buck Multi Tool, you sort of twist it open for the pliers, I had it for years and it saved me well, It's still in excellent condition, I have it in my BuckMaster #184 pouch, and on the smaller lower pouch I have a Vintage Brass Silva Hunter Compass, That paracord loop on the pommel cap wasn't made for grappling because it has two screw in anchors, But we hid our gear in the River under water and that's how we used it. ,, .

Sharpening device is a fishing hook sharpener. Thats what the groove is for. Im sure you can file other things with it too. Thanks for the review!

hi a little late to the show but i think ita a decent pratical with the tools supplied and a sharpener for the knife, i think thst would be the most practical piece of multi tools but if they added a part to fit nost cutting blades like sawzall blades to attach for wood or metal i think that would be perfect

I actually have this multitool! My dad gave it to me seven or eight years ago. My tool has a can opener instead of scissors, and the blade is partially serrated. I feel kinda bad now for thinking it was a piece of junk, but your video definitely has me thinking differently about it now. I wish I could bring it to work with me, but my job would consider it a "weapon." I don't know what makes this more dangerous than a box cutter.

That is the Model 731, I think. There is a 3rd model that is like this one, but without the pliers, too.

Bought one and I liked it right out of the box. However, after a few times of use ( a week) the blade screw fell out. I could not fix it and sent it back to Buck for repair. Six weeks later Buck sent me back a new X-Tract, except this one didn't have pliers, instead it has sissors. I'm not happy with the substitution but the version with pliars was discontinued. So, I cannot recommend this knife.

Nice job. Mine has a serrated blade and can opener option but no sharpening device :-( I actually have it on one of my edc packs because it is fairly light weight. Yeah, it's not mainstream... head scratch. Go figure.

Me too, these companies often don't understand when they have a gem or how to market their better items, they are blinded by the short term bottom line, but they need to understand that like everything else, a "success" is most often simply the item (or kid, or business, or army) that got the proper amount of support put into it.

They have discontinued it, so you're safe from it, I think .... unless they bring it back, like a horror movie remake. Then we will all say we liked the original better LOL.
