My guess is they had the idea for the joke, and they had him join the call because he has a good Shaggy impression, and Lythero just edited it to make it seem like it's seamless. He does that a lot- almost all of his videos include a barely noticeable jumpcut somewhere in them to skip a bunch of footage.
