Theatrical movies never use voice actors and only use celebrities (though Matthew Lilliard is a live action actor too but the people behind the movie clearly didn't care) Matthew Lilliard continued to voice Shaggy even after that movie came in other stuff.

In all honesty it does nothing but make this genre even better. If anything if Nickelodeon sees the success from this they might give more funding for their next project or put more money into the game they have now!

Jon Snow would be an obvious one but the night king, tormund, hell even Joffrey, Cersei or Tyrion would be interesting. A dire wolf or Brand warging into different animals as well! You don’t understand what the phrase “smash clone” is. It doesn’t mean it’s going to copy smash and potentially take it over, it means that it is a game inspired by smash or is a platform fighter in general. It is what people use as a quick way to say platform fighter or smash-like game

I mean brawlhalla has the most players for a platform fighter, and even figting games, so I don't know what you're saying. Also smash isn't the first plaform fighter so smash is technically a clone.

I also see a season pass in there alongside a shop icon. As long as the progression is good and reasonably priced skins, then no problem.

Bruh. This game already looks better than NASB. You can tell they already put more love into it than NASB. As far as micro transactions go as long as there are no power ups I’m cool. If it’s all cosmetics fuck it.

@@CTBD09 See that's the thing, it *looks* better than NASB. And it makes sense because they probably have what, twice, thrice the budget Ludocity was given. What I'm worried about is how it actually plays, how it develops beyond launch, and how these developers communicate with their players because we know *nothing* on them. Ludocity put love in but it was in the gameplay because that was literally all they could afford with time and budget, and Thaddeus and co have been super good at interacting with folks about what they actually want rather than corporate mandates or such (he actually loves Multiversus being a thing for one). It's rough as hell but I can see they *tried*. It's great that we have polished assets, animations, and voice actors, but if none of that went into a good gameplay loop than I'd be wary going onward. This is all we have to go on until beta of course so they could easily change my mind.

The big money will be on Skins like Fortnite, I've seen a couple of skins that I would put my cash on

@@MightGuy15 Warner bros owns NeatherRealm so they probably will do it. Plus Raiden isn’t the only crossover. They’ve also done sub zero and scorpion in injustice as well as Joker in mortal kombat.

My guess is that this game will have an item shop for cosmetics and probably even a season pass. The stuff they can sell is pretty much endless. Taunts, costumes, knockout effects, etc.

Also it tries to shake the platform fighter genre by being focused on team play, especially since each character has an utility tool to help your team in certain situations (the lasso would be so clutch if you can catch your teammate mid-launch before they reach the blast zone)

I think that the fact that this is free to play alone will give it an edge against Nick All Stars. Nick All Stars is damn near fully priced and has an abysmal roster, bad soundtrack, few play modes, no appeal to casual audiences since it's so fast and technical, no skins and no voice acting. All Star brawl feels like it isn't even finished. This game has already addressed those issues alone nonetheless while also releasing for free.

I feel like this game will be different and can grow it’s own community like Brawlhalla considering it’s f2p, crossplay, and the huge range of characters at their disposal. As long as the developers stay away from promoting this through Smash content creators and given that this game isn’t even on Switch, it seems like they’re on the right track.

@@handsmcgee8331 Brawlhalla doesn’t have dlc characters. When you start the game, you can play as the free “8” legends or buy the whole roster for $20. The only thing you can buy in brawlhalla is characters that are basically skins for them. Not separate dlc hero’s. So it’s technically not pay to win. *cough Mortal Kombat* *Injustice 2*

I agree about "clone", but "Smash killer" is sort of an encompassing of a true thing about this genre: nobody survives Smash. It is heads and shoulders above every competitor, and that more than anything else is what this genre needs, a true competitor, to drive innovation, to prove the format isn't just one game and pretenders, to create variety and a healthy wider community. We don't call games Street Fighter killers because Mortal Kombat and King of Fighters and Guilty Gear exist and have made the 2D fighter genre broad and healthy. We don't call games Tekken killers because, frankly, Virtua Fighter started that 3D fighter space. I remember growing up and hearing every RPG hailed as a Final Fantasy killer, because every JRPG in that era was either Final Fantasy, or Kinda Bad (tm). It might not be a healthy mindset or a sign of promise, but is the sign of hunger for more, for better. That, I think, is a good sign. Having Nick ASB and Multiversus around right when Smash is going to sleep is great for this genre. Looking forward to how things go

Yeah NASB went overboard on Meleeing itself. They wanted to create a ton of options so every character can do combos, but made too many and now every NASB Grand Finals match is all 0-deaths

A support character in a platform fighting game. That's new.

It could be that the game has a minimum amount of processing power required to run it that goes slightly above optimization for the switch. Some games that are on PS/Xbox/PC but not on Switch tend to have that aspect. Which is a shame, because I would be down to have it on Switch, let alone crossplay with Switch users. But if that’s the case, then there’s not much that can be done about it.

@@Harmless_Music They could drop the frame rate. The game isn’t a massive 3D game like GTA5, so I don’t really see any reason to not have it on the Switch personally.

Smash has an earned reputation of being THE quintessential crossover fighting game, so when content creators use terms like "clone" or "killer" you are essentially setting people's expectations to be as high as Smash's, and if/when they find out that it's not as fun or polished as Smash or doesn't encapsulate it's immense scope and appeal, the consumers will inevitabley feel disappointed. If you still think it's not a big deal, maybe ask about the state of the last supposed smash clone and killer Nick All Star Brawl to it's 10 concurrent viewers on twitch. In order for these games to succeed, they NEED to escape the shadow of Smash and be able to stand on their own, it's the reason why Rivals of Aether is still well regarded, and every time someone calls a game like this the "new Smash", it's bound to disappoint people.
