As you said, they are optional. I don't get why people are getting mad over it. It has no effect on gameplay, and keeps the game free with updates for everyone. Besides, games like fortnite have skins and bundles that cost 20 dollars and upward, and you see no one complaining about that. If you like the skin and you want to support the devs, there is nothing wrong with that.

The only skins that should be 20$ are skins that completely changes the character like the Black lantern skins,Fern,Cake etc.

Skins should all be $5 while the battlepass should be $10 which is the norm for games now. Skins shouldn’t cost more than the battlepass that’s crazy. More people would spend more money if the skins were $5 and the battlepass is $10. There’s more incentive for them.

Not necessarily because games that was actually cheaper never made as much money as Multiversus. Multiversus was actually the highest selling game for two months straight beating full price games so yeah that's not the case plus Fortnire charge same prices and it worked out for them.

I play brawlhalla. Those characters I brought were my choice. SpongeBob, Ken, The Master Chief, etc. they sell packs for them . Here's a sggestion to make the price cheaper. Just purchase them one at a time 😂

As someone who tries not to spend a lot about my games I never bought a single skin the price is a little high but still is reasonable the only complaint I can give is that they should make a way for people to grind and get a skin through playing and not even permanently for example I think the best way to this during the event period by grinding and completing missions for a specific week you have the chance to get a new skin

That’s not the problem that we have with the skin prices the main problem is that they charge 20$ for low quality skins. For example I wanted a Pajama Garnet but it costed 20$ the skin isn’t even that good to be 20$. Fortnite gets their skins and prices. They charge 20$ for GOOD legendary skins. I don’t mind spending 20$ on a samurai Batman skin because it’s worth it but paying 20$ for a animated Batman skin that’s about the same exact thing as the original skin then that’s when it becomes a problem. Plus companies make more money for charging customers reasonable prices. Fortnite chargw 10$ for a 100 tier battle pass with skins, wraps, pickaxes etc. meanwhile MVS charging 10$ for a 50 tier battle pass with majority of the battle pass being nothing but backgrounds for your profile. And only including like 3 skins They knew their prices was too high which is why they changed it😂

Ngl I'm not sure if I should say this, but the game is public now. I was part of the play test beta, and as part of that of course you have to do a survey. For the exact reasons you stated in the video I said I would pay for skins and sometimes even in game currency to help me get new characters. I wanted Multiversus to go crazy with some of the characters and if me paying means I can help eventually open the bridge towards 3rd party characters then that would be awesome. Mob Psycho for example is published by WB Japan but say if there are additional cost to help add Mob. I would absolutely pay for that. I really want anime characters to appear in a good platform fighter, whether it's Smash first or Multiversus first.

First, IMO the Skins are WAY too expensive, so future skins should be dialled down, while the past skins could just be said as a Beta Thing, people also forgot that game pricing gets higher over the time, by 2030 game cosmetics will be like 40 dollars, while actual games will be like 200-300 dollars.

Exactly. Like they wonder why barely anybody was spending money on the game it’s because of the pricing of their cosmetics. The pricing definitely needs to be dialed back

@Nightlizard1564 actually no that's not the case tbh. Multiversus was the highest selling game for the months Of August and September. That was not the reason people stop playing it was literally lack of content and the servers. If that was the case no would be playing Fortnite tbh.

One thing that I think would be cool is that a skin that doesn't change the character too much (depending on the character and the skin itself) could add exclusive voice lines that match her, I think that overall this would be more fun and balance it out a little more things...

With game prices going up that's not realistic tbh. Development cost has jump up drastically. They spending movie budgets on games not like 318 million on Spiderman for example compare to Spiderman 2 on PS2 budget was WAY less.

As some one who knows pay-to-win items in other games, this isnt an issue in mvs. As long as there are NO CHARACTERS IN STORE its no problem at all and im not expecting a 'rose skin' (Warzone) or simular items in this game. Edit. I hope they are not going to use a different currensy for characters. Because beta players like me probably have enough coins to buy the next 10 characters without ever touching the game.

Honestly, this video is extremely unconvincing. To start by saying you personally don’t care about skins puts the conversation in a completely different perspective because regardless of the price, you aren’t affected. So someone like me who does care about skins is essentially just hearing “well I don’t really care about it, why should you?” Then to say you don’t really mind the cost cause it’s optional is irresponsible imo. You know video games are optional right? Would you be opposed to games individually costing 150 dollars? If so, why? You don’t HAVE to play games, so the price isn’t relevant really. The problem is that these cosmetic prices were essentially made so made so an extremely small portion of the play base can blindly spend tons of money on it. It makes ZERO sense how they can price full on characters LESS than skins. They don’t even have the Fortnite excuse of IP collaboration costs, WB literally owns every IP in the game. It’s predatory and this is why people criticize it. Think about it logically. It far easier to convince people to regularly spend 5 dollars on skin than to convince people to spend a third of the price of a full video game on a digital skin. So financially, this doesn’t make sense either.

Honestly yes. Just because u don’t have to buy it doesn’t make it anymore predatory. Like take overwatch 2 prices for skins and cosmetics for example. U don’t have to buy them but the prices for them are ridiculous regardless. Imo really feel like the prices for skins just need to be reasonable. If it was a bundle then it would make sense for it to be $20-$30 but just for one skin is crazy

Won't blame you for this one but the word predatory is use completely wrong. Predatory is like loot boxes to where you buying something and you don't know what you are getting even tho it is your choice for buying them. Buying skins is not predatory you know what you getting it is the equivalent of buying Jordan's you don't have to buy them it have cheaper options but people do and know what they are getting. Predatory is a word that people throw around and it lost its meaning but like I said don't blame you people been doing that.

Like rent isn't too expensive for y'all but a $20 skin is, come on. In all seriousness, they could lower the price down for some and the ones that should be $20 are the true variants such as the Black Lanterns and Cake, for those extra voice works and animations aren't cheap y'know.
