Delta had a fair amount of electric guitar and banjo. This might be their best fusion between their two styles though. With Delta (the song) being a close second imo.
The musical experience that comes when listening to Mumford and sons is like no other. Close your eyes, play it loud and forget your troubles. Love it!!
[Verse 1] My generation’s stuck in the mirror “Forget about the poor, ‘cause I don’t like the word” I need to know the name of my neighbor I am not known if I’m not seen or heard And I am afraid of that which I do not know So why don’t I just ask your fucking name Justice just gets buried in a white light I heard there was a time you’d call it shame [Chorus] Put your hand on me tonight And I will be here When you’re crying out tonight And I will be here [Verse 2] Your cynicism buys me no more time here Imagine my relief to hit the walls Running from the weight of ancient labels And leaving what identity there was Well my generation’s stuck in the mirror “Forget about the poor, ‘cause I don’t like the word” I need to know the name of my neighbor I am not known if I’m not seen or heard [Chorus] So put your hand on me tonight And I will be here When you’re crying out tonight I will be here [Outro] Let’s raise our hands for a moment And leave it all behind Don’t be afraid for a moment The blind leading the blind So put your hands in mine tonight And I will be here When you’re crying out tonight I will be here
My dad used to play their first album for me in the car. Those are some of my earliest memories. Loving Mumford and sons has been a part of my life since I was a little kid going to the grocery store. I recently rediscovered their music on my own, and I was taken back that I could hear it again. This new song reminds me of my childhood so much and I love it
this kind of song was totally missing on delta and its the perfect mix between the classic m&s style and the new style... keep it that way and the new album would be so amazing :) ! thanks for giving us this beautiful new song ! love u guys
I love this. Heard it in the radio and now I’m hooked, after 10 years of listening to Mumford and Sons. Has to be about the influence of social media/the internet on people and how narcissistic they’re becoming. So powerful.
Marcus Mumford your voice always gets to me and the band speaks for itself you guys are gracious and unique to me never change your music it’s powerful so don’t let the light go out with much love 🙏😍🥰 Frm California Fresno come and visit
Loved y'all in Houston!!! Y'all rocked the Toyota Center, and being so close to the stage was a mind blowing experience. Thank you for everything! Please come back soon!! 💕💕
This will be a good prelude to their next album-a mixture of the old and new sounds. A point of reminiscing in moving forward. I love you so much, Mumford & Sons.
I'm addicted to this, thank you so much! I hope the next album comes with that same energy, hearing the banjo and guitar electric coexisting in the same song is simply amazing ♥
