One thing I see so often in my witchy groups is "I saw a crow today, what does that mean? I heard they're bad omens!" Well, it means you live in a place where crows also live. I see a crow, I get excited because it means I got to see a crow! Hell yeah crows!

I knew a woman who was, as my family calls it: a spiritualist christian. She found jesus/god in everything she did. Once she told me how she found angel wing feathers on things, including a spoon she was putting in the silverware drawer. She sees it as god and I saw it as, your house is dusty as hell because you have three children and a lazy husband. if anything its a sign you need to clean.

I like being a non-special NPC, someone else can be “chosen” XD

I'm so glad you mentioned the subconscious. I definitely took everything as a sign my first year when everything was new and magical. What I've found to be true for me since then is that the patterns I notice and the things that stand out to me usually say a lot more about my internal world than anything magical or coincidentally mundane. Seeing a hawk and a raven chasing each other in circles might not have been a sign from elsewhere to dump a toxic friend, but the fact that that's how I interpreted it told me I needed to explore that feeling. Having a lot of jewelry break could be a crossing, or it could be stress and self sabotage creeping out in clumsiness and carelessness. I always pay attention when something sticks out to me, but it's usually me trying to tell myself something. It doesn't have to be magical to be valuable.

I have that friend. She always thinks someone is out for her and Im like "dude maybe your teenage kids are just crappy drivers." She thinks all this little things mean something.

just before i started my witchy journey, i began seeing moths everywhere. they would land close to me, on my window, on my computer, on my room. EVERYWHERE. seeing moths are not something you usually pay attention to, unless it happens frequently. so if i did, that tells you how many times it would happen. and then i started having weird "déja vu" dreams about the stupidest things, like someone telling me something important at work or going to get money on the ATM. very mundane things, but premonitions nonetheless. this would happen three to four times a week. that was when we had a family reunion and my relatives mentioned that my great grandmother was a witch, and maybe that was her way of saying i was ready. I've been practicing for years now!

The "Chose One" is my LEAST favorite trope of all time. I wish it wasn't as big a thing as it is!

All of this was really well said. I've been a witch for almost 20 years now, and I'm still seeing witches that have been around longer than me jumping the magical gun all the time.

What's happened to me almost two times now, is I would spot a word that I've NEVER seen or heard of before, and I would learn the definition. Then, as the day goes on, I end up watching something on TV or visiting friends, and in one day, I would hear the exact word two or more times!! I'm not saying that means anything, but this video reminded me of those times!

I had a period of time where I would get dreams about my teeth falling out. I read about symbolism in dreams but couldn't connect the symbolism (something about lying or hiding important things from others) with any major part of my life... Turned out my subconscious was just telling me that it was time for a visit to the dentist and the dreams stopped after that visit :P

You worded this in such a wonderful and concise way! We have to accept that a lot of things just exist without any sort of special meaning to them.

TW mental health: I try to be very very careful looking for signs because I use to do that when I had psychotic attacks 5 years ago. I prefer to miss something out because I wasn't paying attention that to enter in that kind of dynamic again. It's not fun, I can promise. So be careful, and take care of yourselves 💜

I've been practicing for 18 years and much of what you say is still applicable. YES divination is the equalizer of discernment. I will say that the more immersed you get into the practice the more common and reliable these things do become.

I’ve only been practicing for a year, but over that time, one of the first and biggest lessons I’ve learned in is that obsessing over things is pretty much never good for magic, just like it isn’t good for you in the mundane.

We are playing the "How many times can I click on the like button?"-Game :D I'm not completely new to the witchy world, I have spent a whole lot of time like lingering on the edge if you want to call it that, but I never had a term or could point out what I was looking for. Spirituality and alternative stuff in general is a thing in my familiy BUT whenever someone stumbled about something new I have always found myself being like: Wow, okay, calm down, the "normal" world has not just vanished because you found a new perspective on it ... For me it sometimes was really hard to talk to people about spiritual things because I am kind of guided by logic (sorry for weird expressions here, I struggle to point it out in German as well, using English does not make it any better xD). I have been looking for a kind of spirituality which speaks to this logical part and does not feel like I have to put that part of me away for the practice. It's been quite hard sometimes to talk about spiritual things, even though my family is very open to this, because there was this very effect you just discribed: EVERYTHING was spiritual. Like physical and chemical laws and everything else around us had just vanished - even though we're talking about people who literally studied sience here. I know that I myself can get carried away sometimes. As you said that is pobably quite normal. But I am like jumping around right now because I see you (and other witches) talking about the fact that there is a completely mundane part of our world and it is literally the part that is far better seen. I feel like I finally found people who understand my struggle with being mundane and spiritual at the same time and never really being able to adress that because most people would just not want to see one or the other. Well, that came out as a wall of text. Sorry about that. I just had to get my thoughts out because I am SO happy to have found the door to what I was looking for. As I said I am still kind of new to the witchy world so there is probably a lot more to discover. But for me it feels a little like coming home right now. So thank you for doing this video and pointing out the (for some of us probably a little harsh) truth that being spiritual does not mean to be chosen or to be above the mundane part of the world we're living in. I actually got a sign that I confirmed through tarot. Earlier I was talking to Thor and giving offerings then I go upstairs to play video games. Nearly the whole time , I switch to another game and a few minutes in it rains again.

I can’t agree with you more! Some Facebook groups I belong to make me shake my head....and then I’ll answer accordingly and politely. I’ve seen other bash and be really REALLY cruel to newbies - it’s so incredibly wrong for anyone to judge or act this way towards others. I understand their excitement, as we were all there at one point or another. May be all be happy. May we all be blessed with kindness. May we all be healthy. 💕❤️💕

Loved this video. I remember when I was younger and I definitely went through the “it’s a sign” phase and even the “perhaps I am chosen” phase as well. I think many of us have gone through this and I know sometimes hearing these truths can really suck, but we all need to understand that sometimes that cloud just looked that way because we interpreted it that way, or that cat looked at us because it acknowledged another being in its presence and not because Freyja was trying to tell us she wanted our shiny new necklace ...so yeah I get what you are saying and thank you for sharing. I was obsessed with signs for a month or so, in my opinion it is really normal to do so when you are new to all this. But then you find the balance, and it's really satisfying!

This video just made me subscribe, and I loved this so so much! For a couple of years I was caught up in "everything is a sign", "I am on this spiritual mission because of x,y,z", and "I have to do this and that to be a lightworker" and completely forgot myself and forgot to come back to the mundane. When I finally had the breakthrough of, "this is bulls*t, I'm having a human experience and I am suppose to be here" it was lovely and I fell in love with the mundane all over again.

I would like to say: i have specific things ive learnt to look out for from the paranormal, and its sort of like my spirit guides know what im looking for now, so thats how i get signs. If i see angel numbers and it just catches my eye, i cant look away or i keep thinking about it, i look it up asap. If i have weird dreams (cause i invited them to manifest) i record them as soon as i can and then interpret as i go. Also, i use the rule of 3 for attention grabbing, if i see it 3 or more times im like "OOP- gotta blast!". Had more tips but ofc the Queen covered it already~ 💛💛💛💛 love and light babes.

I agree 100%. Take note, research, wait and see how things progress. It’s okay that the universe isn’t constantly calling out to you. It’s okay to notice tiny details and connect synchronicities from them. You have to make the call on how much faith/power you put behind your signs. Biggest thing I think you can take away from this video: If the universe wants you to know something, it WILL make it known.

For me I have always done the magpie counting rhyme, even befor I was a witch. So me in the middle of the path on may way to school trying to count how many magpies were on the aldi roof

The past several days I’ve been seeing 4’s everywhere. Everyday at 4:44pm I look at the time. My gas tank was $24.44. Spent $44 at the laundromat. It’s very comforting.

I personally try to look at the "long game," which is just another way of saying what you said.. Basically not taking every incident as a sign, but looking at pattetns. I came into this practice with a lot of skepticism and I don't have the energy to analyze every single thing.

I suffered from this issue a while back. A lot of the spiritual gurus I was following at the time were the type to jump to conclusions. I started realizing the more intent I was placing into something, the more it made sense to me. If I asked for a sign, I would wait to see it consistently, so the fact that you're mentioning it in this video just kind of supports the notion that it helps when your spirits and guides know exactly what you're looking for. Sometimes they're specific, sometimes they're not. You really have to focus on it and consider what it was you were asking for at the time (because at least personally- i tend to forget!!! :'D). I once had a pretty super focused sign: I was wondering what path to take next in my life, and was just kind of dreaming and wondering, without any real intention to it. That day, I kept getting the numbers 333 pop up in random places (I like numerology, and just didn't think much of it other than I was surrounded by some nice energy that day). Then I went for some errand runs, got to doing my laundry, and as I leave for my car, right outside the door of the laundromat, some broken branches made up the symbol for the rune Algiz (which has three branches pointing upward) caught my attention rather vividly. I looked it up and recognized it as one of the runes I used in combination with several others as a mark on my arm to represent "The Protected Path." And so figured I was being protected while I figured my own way out. :) And that was the end of it (on that way day, anyway). It was very magical in its own way, albeit rather mundane way to end my day, no less. :)

Yeeeesssss. I see this so frequently. I think it is so important to keep ourselves grounded mentally sometimes. I also see a lot of "Have I been hexed!?" questions. Most likely, the answer is no.

As an older woman coming to witchcraft late in life I have avoided this stage for the most part simply because I've been around the block a few times and have garnered that wisdom through life experience. Still, I have been guilty of seeing the spiritual in the mundane a time or two just like any other beginner. Oh, and P.S. I am definitely bad at keeping plants alive. My son has even dubbed me Mom, Killer of Plants.

The way I see it, we are each of us, are special, in our own enchanting way 😊

Question for anyone who’s comfortable answering! I’ve been exploring herbalism / witchcraft and my spirituality for a few weeks. Mostly just a lot of reading and research, I haven’t done much spell work because I want to make sure I know how to be safe first - but I have been using herbs to cleanse my space and craft teas, burning incense and connecting with nature. A few days ago I was peacefully dreaming around sunrise and was woken up by what sounded like somebody in my room, inhaling deeply over and over. I live alone with my cats, it sounded way too close for it to be something I was hearing from outside, and I was wide awake. I felt very uncomfortable. Eventually it stopped, and I immediately saged my entire apartment. I haven’t had any experiences like this in the entire year that I’ve lived here. Part of me feels like my practice and increasing my spiritual awareness may have invited something / someone into my room. Is this normal, does this just happen sometimes, or is this some indication that I did something wrong without taking enough precaution?

I love your down to earth attitude about this. I think this is similar to the whole "everything happens for a reason" thing. You can choose to live your life *as if* everything happens for a reason, trying to find reasons and meaning behind everything, but this often becomes exhausting. Sometimes things just happen. But sometimes you know something's up. Maybe this is a difference between synchronicity and coincidence?..

As somebody with a Christian background, I agree consistency is key. For instance, I kept having the same scripture passage popping in my head for days. I kept being recommended in the RU-vid section about songs that dealt with shepherds. I saw multiple postings about sheep, which then lead me to a bible study about the subject (Psalm 23) and I will say it is what God wanted me to read and study. If it is constantly repeated then most likely it is a sign.

the other thing I see a lot from beginners is thinking that they're cursed when something goes wrong, whether it be their spellwork or that they've just had a bad day and more often than not they're not cursed, I see it a lot on amino p&w

Haha yes. I remember initially getting excited at every little thing but quickly learned to chill. I woke up and within a few hours I either said, heard, & read the word 'mundane' like 4 different times in completely unrelated things. It's not a common word for me so I got up to do some mundane things I had been putting off like laundry & dishes. Searched the word on RU-vid & here I am lol chilling & cleaning.

Thanks for this! I've been really into seeing everything as a sign and it doesn't always work for me and I think it's because of making everything a spiritual sign when it's really sooooo much more mundane.

my sisters and i can connect with spirits in different ways. we realized something was trying to get our attention when we each had a different experience that reminded us of the same dead family member. all in one day. We realized it all happened in the kitchen so we kept an eye on the kitchen and found out there was a serious gas leak from the stove..Con ed came and said the house would have blown up if we turned it off. That's when we knew that family member was warning us and saved our lives.

I’m just entering the craft and I decided to start gathering things to use in my craft and wanted to make a salt bowl from from ash wood on our land. I started looking for an ash tree this winter (not an easy thing to do identifying trees in the winter without leaves!) and was getting frustrated. I decided to put the idea aside for the moment. This spring I was on a walk with my kids and I finally found a huge ash tree. I stopped and put my hand on the tree and asked if she had any tree babies near by that I could use some wood from. We continued our walk and I forgot about the tree. The next day we had a wind storm that knocked down a pine tree in our yard. It crushed my kids play set and I was bummed we’d have to replace it. The next day I went into the yard to start clean up and was stunned. Attached to the pine tree was a large limb of an ash tree I didn’t know was in our woods. The pine tree had brought the limb down and was holding it at waist level perfectly positioned for me to pick up. A sign? Maybe or maybe not. Either way I went back and thanked that mama ask tree for the gift of wood! (And also thanked the tree it came from!)

I’m in several witch Facebook groups & see a lot of posts about signs but it almost always seems like an overreach (that said, I have seen some that seemed like true signs as well, but the majority is just “oh I saw this one thing, am I in danger??”). Honestly I’m just starting out and I think I’ve been searching for signs due to everyone online asking what things mean and saying they saw signs and you might have just stopped me from going down a dark path losing touch with reality by reminding me this so thank you so much !! It’s good to know that it’s not the norm to see signs!

NUMBERS!!!!! Number sequences are the largest sign someone or something is trying to get your attention. Identical numbers, sequential numbers, number patterns.....those are the craziest and best ones. They jump out and you cant explain how they come about. Buses, addresses, pages in a book, receipts, change in your pocket, the time.....these are called angel numbers and can represent anything. It's really freaking awesome how the universe will put them in your path at the right time for you and there is really no way at all to force them, it just happens!!! That's the best time to do a meditation and speak with your ancestors or spirit guide or whichever god or deity you follow for answers IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE ANSWER IN THE NUMBERS!!!! Or just want more clarity ABOUT whatever is ongoing. BTW I absoluetely love your channel and have learned much from watching you and getting the CONFIRMATION for me of what my beautiful witch is already teaching and showing me. You're a beautiful soul and keep on doing you Olivia!!!

I have to admit, when I first began practicing I definitely was looking for signs in everything 😅. That has cooled down over time. Still, there are signs everywhere, but there aren’t signs all the time. I encourage everyone to be aware and notice whatever you may perceive as a sign or message and take it seriously, but don’t let it end there. Take note, maybe research a bit if it really strikes you as significant, but also know it could absolutely be coincidence. If more signs keep appearing that confirm your suspicions, awesome! Go from there. If it’s a one time thing, you’re absolutely valid in placing significance on it, but don’t let that one instance be the end all be all. You have to open to the thought of “Maybe I’m right, maybe I’m wrong”. 😊

this video is wonderful! you don’t have to be a beginner to fall into this delusional patterns tho, sometimes poor mental or physical health could boost the search for false signs. it’s bad because it could lead to even psychosis if you’re a person with unstablity issues, and constantly putting this topic on the table is important so we prevents ourselves and people around from spiraling into false beliefs and delusions that could lead anyone over the edge of unhealthy patterns. very important and informative video.

In March I started seeing a lot of ravens near my house. I thought it was a sign then my boyfriend reminded me that they were probably there because the weather was warming up

This is a great video!!! I agree with you 100%. I luckily tend to be very skeptical and yet at the same time super open minded and open to all the weirdness life can throw at you. If I think im getting a sign and its a one time event I will usually say some prayers for more signs if i truly feel its relevant to my life or to something that has been heavily on my mind. I never go with just one weird experience, I always wait for more synchronicity. I definitely agree that some people get way too carried away with things and over excited and that just doesn't work when you want an authentic, relevant sign. Heck, when you're given one you may not even notice it cause you're so obsessed with that white cat!!! 🤣😉

I had this conversation with my friend the other day when I sent you a picture of a cool way my candle melted. She asked what it meant in “witchy” and I told her that it meant the wick was too close to one side and the following sequence of events were just things that happened 🤷🏼‍♀️ I struggled with “oh it’s a sign!” a lot a few months ago when I was first starting in my practice, but the more I learned, I realized that there is such thing as coincidence (even if you’re a witch). I'm a baby witch and I was laughing watching this because I totally see "signs" all over the place so you shot that right down. 😂 However, I think I do have some awareness that I am the one ascribing meaning to the mundane. In fact that's one of the reasons I started on this path. Life had gotten stale because I stopped seeing the "magic" in the mundane. I'll get to spells eventually but right now I like how studying witchcraft makes me approach my day with more intention and playfulness.

There’s one thing that’s happened to me and my family on separate occasions. We kept seeing an old, completely jet black dog at some crossroads near my parent’s (it happened four times in total I think). My mom and I separately saw it get hit but mysteriously “vanish” before it got hit and then saw it again afterwards and it was my stepdad who saw it last. Don’t know if that was a sign but it was definitely VERY strange and had my attention. It’s actually a big reason why I first sought out witchcraft and speaking to practitioners because I needed answers for the black dog incidents! 😅 So maybe it was a sign, guide or just really really weird
