It’s so good to see Munich as it is today. I was there in the 1970s and the majority of the “old” buildings you loved were either in ruins or completely destroyed. I was amazed at how much bomb damage was still there from the war, during which it was almost completely destroyed. They have been painstakingly restoring those beautiful buildings for many decades and they have done an incredible job. Having seen the mess it was I have so much respect for the people who have recreated this city so beautifully. It’s not the only one either. Nuremberg and Hanover were completely destroyed as well and they have restored them beautifully. I don’t even recognise them on TV travelogues now as the cities I saw in the 70s.

Love Munich, was so blessed to be able to go to Munich with my sons back in 2009. Marienplatz is amazing. We waited to hear the Glockenspiel. Haufbrauhaus💗 . Such an amazing city. The Beergardens are beautiful. Open markets. Enjoy!!!! Your trip. Would love to go back one day.
Ahhhh, Munich. I lived in Europe - GERMANY - for years....loveLoveLOVED it so much. Traveled many other countries around....By Car. It was AMAZING!!!! OMGOODNESS, the Memories...it was a vibe I'll NEVER forget. The food, beer & wine were EXTREMELY DELICIOUS, and I've NEVER EVER taste Fries like theirs - Pom Frites. Everything was so flavorful. Thank you for sharing this...I thoroughly enjoyed walking/riding around with you seeing & feeling the sites and vibes. Munich is one of my favourite cities, Hofbrauhaus is amazing & their beer house in the city is my must place to visit. I love walking round the English gardens to the Chinese tower. And visiting at Xmas is stunning

Living in Munich for all of my life I would recommend to visit the BMW Welt, it’s for free and awesome. Also going for a walk in the Nymphenburg castle is refreshing 😀👍🏻
We had our family vacation in Munich two months ago! We had been to most of the places that you’d been to! Don’t you just love the intricate ceilings in the churches and Residenz? So much effort!! I’m so curious when was this? I was in Munich first week of august, and the weather looked similar (maybe a bit colder than yours). Would have been so funny if I bumped into you without realizing.
I wouldn’t put a toe into a natural body of water in Australia. Don’t want to mess with sharks or crocodiles. ;-) Nice to hear you had an enjoyable stay in Munich.
