It sure is sth different with the sirens; You are correct, our lightbars aren't that flashy, however there's also more than only the primary emergency lights in them. There are additional high-power forward-facing lights, take-down lights, flood/spotlights, rearward-facing amber warning lights, message boards and sometimes even the siren's loudspeaker integrated in the lightbar. Our cars used to be white and green, they then switched to silver and green, then to silver and blue and by now the yellow stripes were added upon the silver and blue color scheme. It's simply to increase the visibility both during day and night

The Blue and Yellow markings used in the UK are a Battenburg style ( named after the cake) UK ambulances use a Green and Yellow Battenburg style and some fire engines use a Red and Yellow Battenburg the markings are reflective and its so that the units are highly visible

@@EnjoyFirefighting The whole point of the Battenburg scheme is for it to be reflective, It is a bit silly to have the colour scheme but not be reflective

The Battenburg color scheme came up in my state a few years ago, until then the EMS units only had the bright-red stripe on white base color and reflective stripes as contour marking on the body. As the Battenburg color scheme was adapted on all new EMS units, the reflective contour marking remained the same; Thus the visibility during the day was increased a lot, but during the night it pretty much remained the same like it was before

​@@cd4786 Sorry, aber das ist ein Irrglaube, den ich hier mal entkräften möchte. Ich bin seit über drei Jahren bei den Grünen hier in Minga, und die ZPKWs von meiner PI haben noch nie Kennzeichen gewechselt. Ab und zu wechseln wir auch mit anderen PIs die Fahrzeuge, aber gewechselt wird hier nix. Zumindest nicht "ständig". Wie's bei den Fahrzeugen vom MEK aussieht, weiß ich auch nicht genau, aber da wird definitiv öfters gewechselt. Bei den ZPKW die Kennzeichen zu wechseln macht jetzt auch nicht so viel Sinn. Die meisten sind sowieso recht einfach an der Antenne zu erkennen, ich glaube niemand macht sich die Mühe und lernt jedes zivile Kennzeichen auswendig. Zumal niemand im fließenden Verkehr jedes Kennzeichen abscannt, ob das ein ziviles Fzg ist.
