Went there at the Opening Reception of Euro Attractions Show this week, it was amazing... this coaster in the dark, with the amazing view over Barcelona at the first drop... simply stunning!
People who are saying this is a boring roller coaster, if you look on the website you will see this is under the family coaster section. JUst saying...
I like the European approach to designing these rides where the emphasis is more on surrounding scenery and visual elements rather than American and some Japanese rides which seem to be in an arms race for height, speed and track length. It also seems the rides in Europe are targeted to a wider audience; there's something for the thrill seekers but more skittish riders, like me, can enjoy them too.
Twisty, low to the ground, like it. I like the fast, twisty high speed maneuver coasters that are low to the ground...glad we're seeing more. Also maybe the lines will be short since everyone thinks a coaster that isnt super insane is lame! Assholes haha
Dare i say my country's coaster manufacturer finally made something that won't get everyone's hate list attantion? yes! a good ride at last.... i was almost getting sick of all the boomerangs and SLC's Vekoma was spewing out al these years.
its not that bad if u have been to barcelona, like me, u would know that it is a tiny theme park on the side of a steep slope, so i think its quite good considering this
It is so refreshing being able to watch a video from this channel without having to listen to that Rob Alvey going, "wheeeee!" and talking about how his ass cheeks jiggle while riding the roller coasters.....just so refreshing to hear nothing but the coaster, hehehe!!!
In some languages rollercoasters are called "Russian Mountains" (muntanya russa in Catalan, montaña rusa in Spanish...). Interestingly, I've heard that in Russia they call them American Mountains (can't confirm). :)
Luna Music it's a bit hard to explain but here i go: In spanish "montaña rusa" (wich is literally translated as russian mountain) means "roller coaster", dont ask me why but thats it lol. Also "muntanya" is mountain in catalan (language spoken here in barcelona) and "montaña" is the same but in spanish, hope it helped
Cosmic Lisztomania Russian Mountains were the original roller coasters. They were wooden ramps with ice slides in the winter, and once it got warm in the summer, they had a track and wheels since they couldn’t have Ice, which is why some countries call roller coasters Russian mountains
In spanish it's Montaña Rusa. Muntanya russa, is the name of the ride in Catalan, a language spoken here in catalonia. Anyhow, they both indeed literally translate to "Russian Mountain" which is what we call Rollercoasters
Really all of that for nothing! We can put some type of inversion in here like a barrel roll maybe a half loop on the first drop into a corkscrew or something!
