hey guys i think you have missed the point re bhp, they have anglo where they want them . That is to say, anglo are now restructuring to the entity bhp would like in its portfolio. BHP can come back when all the messy divestment etc are completed and make a fresh bid.
Not really - Anglo retains Kumba and BHP Board won't touch SA. I think reality is no path forward without going hostile. This is Glencore's lunch one day, look at GLEN focussing on SA relationships
I agree with this assesment, if Anglo American dismember themselves into a South African shitco and their copper assets in South America, then BHP or indeed other predators can bypass the politicians in Pretoria and don't have to make such conditional offers to get what they want. Anglo American shareholders should send Mike Henry a Christmas card because even though the bid failed the Anglo board will hopefully rearrange the business, get rid of some bits, make other parts work and hopefully give up on Woodsmith.

The Murchison discussion was A1 - first rate, (mainstream media is left for dead). As for Mike Henry bidding for Anglo "to wake up the BHP board" (and spending $10's of millions, looking like a idiot).......call me naive but I don't think so. Why aren't we talking Freeport Mc as a target?
