Based on what I heard...there has to be evidence to match the testimony. If the evidence was collected inappropriately then no matter what the testimony is, that evidence cannot be used in court. The police needs to learn the proper art of investigating, collecting evidence and securing evidence. That's how you win cases.
What business does a Judge acting as Juror have in questioning why the chief informant ex-gang member was not charged we have to question his motive! This Judge seems to want to replace DPP in addition to a balanced Jury! Who on earth could have any faith in judgements from this Crime Facilitator??

All 28 defendants are going to walk. From very early in the case, Justice Sykes have expressed significant reservations about the way the police handled the investigation. I think it’s over. Jamaica is more about jungle justice than the law.
I would hope he Justice Cykie don't not let another predator go ,other wise we going to demand, he step aside ,The family need Justice for their love one. Some one have to defend them..
Jamaicans already had very little faith in the justice system before this fiasco. Judge Sykes in particular has certainly acquitted himself admirably based on some of his questions and rulings. Many of his decisions from the bench over the past 10 years (including bail offerings) should be reviewed. Not holding my breath however, since, in Jamaica, his current title places him beyond accountability.

Some of those prosecutors only have law degree and no knowledge of proper prosecution of criminal cases. Identification of criminals has to be most paramount when prosecuting a case.
Just imagine them try so hard and then BOOM!!!! Everybody walk free. If i was in there shoes me just ago work for work sake just to get pay cause my work dnt value nothing.
Justice Department needs to be revamped... Judges seems to want law enforcement to be perfect while criminals just have to wait long enough to walk away be it violation of bail conditions or being on trial
Just sell the island and give everyone their share. Law abiding Jamaicans will relocate elsewhere where justice works and citizens rights are respected.
If we do not take into account the significance of witnesses refusing to attend Court or give evidence for fear of losing their lives and instead rely on circumstantial evidence to deal with murderers then why dont we just give the country to the murderers to do as they like?

That man Sykes, call himself judge doesn't know his head from his feet. I hope he will take responsibility for all those lives wasted and the many more to come. I'm saddened with the fact that the cops who work assiduously, putting their lives on the line to bring in these criminals only to be set freely by someone who have no clue of what is happening in the society. I agree with you it doesn't matter what evidence the police bring to the court it's not good enough, however in this case you have witness, now the witness is not credible why because they want to set these criminals free.

I really wonder what judge Sykes hope to achieve ? Same as how him intervene by saying what are the the charge of the informer which turned state witness and other things like as if he's the defense attorney.
