You are wrong cause the end of monarhy started fight, war, riots. etc. all supported by Pakistan. Read about anti-goverment islamic rebelions which started from 1973 since Daoud took power. .

For me shooting and civil war in Afghanistan started close after Daud came to power and local riots and revolts started. It's no matter that loyal to Daud afghan army crushed them cause first ppl died. Only in 1973 there was over 6 revolts against Daud in whole Afghanistan. Next years to Saur Revolution Daud's secret police and agents of SAVAK made everything to stop this growing of oposition so many ppl were just arrested and some go abroad including islamists rebels.

I didn't say that all those islamic fanatics were able to do any harm to the Afghani peace. I just noticed when prelude of this war started. All wars start by one shot - somone must to shoot first. We can discuss about what started afghan civil war: somebody can say that was aday of Saur Revoution when it stared, others can say that it was rebelion of Nuristan 1978 or even 1973 and came Daud to power (there were victims and shooting too).
