Ok, so this lady is a psycho and has deep rage against the parents, then why kill the kids who have nothing to do with it? I’m not saying it’s better to kill the parents but that’s who she was mad at, not some helpless kids who had nothing to do with it.
When you’re overwhelmed by the amount if work you’ve been given YOU QUIT YOUR JOB AND FIND ANOTHER ONE THAT WILL SUITS YOU not by murdering your employer’s innocent children ! This lady is not insane, she’s 100% know what she’s doing and enjoyed it. Just look at her face, she’s more annoyed that she needs to go to court than showing any remorse !
I remember a phrase in my country but i dont know if i say it correctly but it was something like this "its a terrible tragedy for parents to outlived their own children, the guilt, pain and the sadness is hell torture taken shape in real world"
She definitely is a monster but let me tell you, some of those NYC wealthy people work their domestics to the bone. It is no one's job to be a slave, especially to some of those sickos in Manhattan.
Two totally separate issues. Very likely the people were horrible employers, no doubt this woman is an evil killer. Both can be true at once, only a monster would attach the two.
This is one of the most horrible acts of hateful vengeance I've ever heard of. Prayers for the parents and their family . (LuLu & Leo, little angels RIP 10-25-2012) 🙏🙏
The mother put her servant through all kinds of pain and never thought much of it so this was the servant's way of reminding her "hey, don't treat people like that or their will be consequences. My life matters too."
@@Skillorex lol. No. "Ortega survived her self-inflicted wounds, and was later deemed by two New York State psychiatrists mentally competent to stand trial." Don't just talk.
Even in the courtroom, the defendant's body language is cold and uncaring. That is a pure plain evil person. Those children probably looked at her with love but she never looked at them back with the same. 💔
The fact that she waited, to see the utter horror on the mother's face, after she had committed such a heinous act, shows she is totally, if you pardon the phrase, in her right mind and is now just hiding behind an insanity defense.
williejames huff no it’s not, that’s a dumb thing to say, it’s not like every other day you see the news saying that 2 kids have been murdered by their nanny, a lot of people have nanny’s or have babysitters or other thugs like that.
It's not that simple trust me you'll learn when your older but you need to be able to support your family or yourself and then a 2 week notice would have to be in motion after then apply for a job and possibly 50% 50% chance they would accept you
Seems to me that "the nanny" was jealous of the mom's life and wanted to break her. This is why I don't trust people with my kids. To many horror stories like this.
Exactly! I feel the same way. I rather be a stay at home full time mum, while my little one is old enough for Kinder. The job can wait. We can’t trust NO ONE with our precious babies.
SINGLE CHILDLESS WOMEN BECOME A RED FLAG IN THEIR LATER AGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (mentally.) There is history to this. All the stereotypical "crazy cat ladies." And "Witches" back in the Dark Age were by fact insane women of this description.
@@OPJuiceBox yeah I know that but as a doctor you have to do everything you can to prevent that case and at the end of day yeah what that monster did was horrible but I'm not going to kill her it's not my right I will let it up to God and karma is bittersweet I'm not going to darker my heart nope.
I like how they took the time to say “During the court hearing a bunch of officers ran down the hall… it wasn’t related in any way but we thought it was interesting.”
Aiko Redd I don’t think a sane person would kill 2 kids for no reason! What I really mean is that the insanity plea is a cop out to get less time or no time at all and she shouldn’t have that option at all! Evil in my opinion isn’t a mental issue it’s just what it is which is unexplainable! Look at her face
Akia LaNae I see what you're saying I'm not against her death, if someone is unable to mentally be stable and commit a horrid crime they should be killed in my opinion. If she's found to be insane then she should be killed due to the wasted money and food it costs to care for her in a asylum.
And they ended up having 3 more kids. I can't imagine how strange it would be to be those kids to grow up and learn that you actually had 2 older siblings who were murdered as young children before you or any of your other siblings were even born.
From the sounds of it, it isn’t that they had 3 more after the 2 were murdered... they had 5, and 2 of them were murdered. I could be wrong, but the video didn’t really establish when the killings were and how long it had been before it went to trial
I checked... they had 3 at the time; it seems that the surviving sister was the eldest and the younger two were the ones lost to that wretch of a festering husk of evil... But yeah, 2 sons after that horrifying experience.... one in 2013 and the other in 2016 The mom seems like she was always big into crafts but may have given a lot of herself to it even more as a means of coping... but it could just be that she’d always been whole hog into crafts even before that tragic afternoon
well my older brother died when he was 1 week old so i think i can feel it a little bit and honestly i feel a bit bad but i just can’t think of it it’s like your great grandfather who died before you were born your parents tell you stories about them but you don’t have a connection with them so you don’t feel sad really but more confused
@@COLMECTIGAMINGANDMORE it's not quite so much that they died, it's that they were brutally murdered. It would be a little different if they had died of sickness or something like that.
@@gageamonette5120 yes it’s very strange because of that but i still don’t think they will feel much as they have no connection they might cry at times just like i did but they will never feel the same way as someone who was alive when they were alive
This story is heartbreaking, her wanting to see the mothers reaction goes to show how disgusting and vile this POS is. It's tragedies like this that made me not ever have a babysitter/nanny or leave my children with ANYONE except my mother-in-law. I was fortunate to be able to be a stay-at-home mom with my children.
My thing is, the nanny was so called “insane” then why did she take the job as a nanny, if she knew she had mental issues. I get it she needed the money, but if she knew that she was not mentally stable to be around kids then she shouldn’t have taken the job.🤷🏽♀️
but if a nanny quits then how is she going to pay her house or her food ? they cant hire her shes so old, either way that wasnt a right solution she did
@@Joeboe8 have her stave to death. People like this can’t be rehabilitated. This is sick and twisted. I know for a fact the prison/county jail she’s staying at have her PC’d up. So it’s going to be hard for the general population to get to her. Unless a C.O. pulls some strings.
“She felt Rage for the amount of work she was asked to do” YOU WERE A NANNY, THAT WAS YOUR JOB. AND EVEN IF IT WAS TO MUCH YOU. DO. NOT. MURDER. INNOCENT. CHILDREN.
Remember being a nanny for two children job in itself cleaning house washing clothes cooking is another job I'm not giving the nanny any excuses she should have called someone to come and get the children if she could not handle it she should be punished but no one should ask anyone to watch any more than one child Plus do all the housework
@@kathycartright5115 ...... That's literally her job. So does that mean housewives should kill their families because of house work. You say you're not giving her an excuse but that's what you're doing.
@@kathycartright5115 I'm sure when the parents put out a job list for a nanny they mentioned having more than one kid and more than likely gave an outline on what other tasks she would have to take on like cooking and cleaning. So yeah if she took the job it was absolutely her job to take care to the two kids and do house work. Why did you write all that as if jobs Dont tell you before hand what work they expect you to perform?
Someone who is insane would think what they did wasn’t wrong. They wouldn’t be able to tell. Her attempting suicide is basically an admission of guilt.
That's actually not true. Ever heard of Ronnie O'Neal? He defended himself and it was undeniable that he was not of sound mind, but they let him do it anyway. He murdered his girlfriend and tried to kill his son. Admitted that he did it in court but claimed he was innocent because the murderous cops made it look like he did it with fake evidence. It was the craziest speech I've ever heard and my mother had paranoid schizophrenia.
@@user-nv1zw7bd4h in this particular case. It basically was, not every suicide is, I know that. But when you murder someone and try to kill yourself cause you don’t wanna live your life in a cell. Your guilty as sin. That’s why they try to kill themselves to avoid the punishments.
@@twisted_abyss5654 Not wanting to live your life in a cell is not an admission of guilt...How do you know she didn't think herself innocent but knew that society viewed her as guilty? You can be insane and think it's okay for you to murder while also understanding that murder is against the law lol
never. things like this and my mom's own experience made sure I never had a nanny nor a babysitter. if I am ever to have a child, I will never use a nanny.
I was a nanny and the kids I cared for were like my own. I could never imagine harming a child even on my worst day. I don’t understand why people hold onto jobs they hate. My heart breaks for that family.
Some folk make up their own sense and it comes out in their behavior.......everytime. All she had to do was leave. As no job is worth going insane over.
my babysitter (not as old as this one, she was in college) was great. I always looked forward to it when my parents told me she’d be watching me because then she’d whip out the games and snacks and it’d be a blast. It disgusts me like outliers seen in the video can be so vile and directly opposite
I feel so bad for the parents. That “nanny” should never see another child in her life. God bless that family, Lulu and Leo with be missed. But they’re in a better place now, in heaven, and I’m sure that they’re watching over they’re parents. Rest in Piece kids.
@@Rryan8065 That’s exactly how it works? If your throat is slit you don’t die instantly, but you do become completely unable to make noise. If you want to kill someone, a stab through the neck, head, or chest is much more effective.
Shalyn Spanos IKR what did this nanny thought she signed up for? I followed a woman on twitter who was Au Pair who not only fed the kids but also made them snacks and cleaned after them. This woman just didn't like white people and hurt them in the worst way.
I think the difference is the crime going on your record. Not guilty means you’re acquitted while guilty still means your record is stained & sentencing ensues. But I could be wrong and I agree.
@@kaylinann914 Still should be guilty though. Shes going to a mental institution for a long ass time anyway so why not just convict her and call her guilty. Not guilty should mean the person never committed the crime or that theres a shadow of doubt.
"Guilty by reason of insanity" doesn't make sense. The point is that if a person is not in the right mind when they commit a crime they shouldn't be found guilty. I don't exactly agree, but that's the whole point of insanity pleas.
When the jurors were seeing the photographs of the two slain children in the tub, some of them cried, some with their hands on their mouth and one of them had to dismiss themselves
I don't think there should be an insanity defense. The person still committed the act, and should face justice. Do you think any murderer/rapist/molester/serial killer's mind is right? Hell no. So why do we have this sane mind standard for criminals? It's a farce.
Yuuuup. Exactly. She's entirely lucid. She admitted to waiting to see the mother's reaction. No voices told her to, nothing compelled her to, she actively chose to wait and see. She also tried to take her own life. Why? Was it the demons she's allegedly fighting? Or perhaps she knew there was no way out. The insanity plea is her last attempt at freedom.
@bacon froyo for some people I agree but this is diffrent she took the lives of the most important people for a mother and for that she cant be forgivin.
Supernatural for life _sqwirtel God is a God of mercy and love. So no matter how big a crime or mistake you’ve committed is, if you ask for forgiveness with all your heart and truly mean it he will forgive us. But she doesn’t seem sorry for it so if she dies without asking for forgiveness and without God ,she is going to a special place for people like her where she’ll be tortured for all eternity.
Well because they may have worked her all the time, and also never OFF work. (or her depression was such that a normal fair workload was too much. In which case the parents should have had enough interest in the person that is entrusted with their children to check out what is going on. If she is a live-in nanny she stands up in the night anyway if they need her. That is not like a 8 or 10 hour day. And it is also not like the pay is so good.
I read an article about a suburban couple that offered reduced ! rent for one room in their house for a live-in-nanny. I think USD 150 per week (but that wasn't for a full package). They offered that on a platform with a photo of the room (of course with furniture so no place for personal belongings, it was a guest room and a double bed taking up the space). Their demands on time of being either working or at least PRESENT The night hours, in the morning, and again in the afternoon. No visitors allowed (for the safety of the children) and the live in nanny needs to have a car. (As far as I remember no offer to help with gas, insurance, etc.) Oh and nanny must have health insurance. WiFI not included (but I think they would not charge extra for electricity, heat and warm water). Nanny would need to buy her own food. Begs the question if they would have to pay for the use of the kitchen to prepare some food. In other words a "job" that requires a car but does not offer any ! wage to finance it. Hours that interfere with other jobs and also with being a college student (they have classes and exams in the morning). No social life whatsoever, and also hardly any chance to escape the delightful masters - because the nanny was supposed to be there during night. They were a) informed about the usual conditions of a live-in-nanny (I t is not domestic servants during the Dickens era) b) ripped apart along the lines of "Sure, I can't imagine anything better than raising your kids for you and paying 600 bucks per month for the privilege. I just have to figure out what other job I could get that rhymes with your demands on my time - so that I can afford that. Maybe an elderly person on SS could have afforded that. But is she has so little social life that she would accept that offer - you likely would not want her as nanny. I seem to remember that they wanted a younger person anyway.
That's where you're wrong Kiddo If they do crime, they should be punished, insane or not. If they're insane, they shouldn't be allowed to join the society. Should've casted them into the woods or caves.
Yeah, anytime I see an attorney defending someone like this it makes me question them as well. I know it’s a job and not personal, but when it comes to innocent, defenseless children, morals should always outweigh everything else.
@@riannadominguez396 you have the right to an attorney because everyone has the right to an attorney. it's not an easy job to do, but if they don't do it, police and prosecutors don't have to worry about abiding by the constitution (even insofar as they do now).
@Kali Evelynn you don't understand it do you? Just cause someone has killed a person doesn't mean they're clinically insane. They're a sociopath most of the times. And the plea of "not guilty by reason of insanity" works only for genuinely insane people who have no control over their actions. However many times criminals pretend to be insane to avoid harsh punishments
Dustin Stout It's just facts. That's why child molesters/rapists try to keep their crime hidden in prison. Because once the prisoners find out, lets just say they'll be able to fit a table up their dumper.

I listened to a podcast on this story a few months ago - apparently a big motivation for her was that she was an immigrant, single mother working hard for her son to go to a nice school and eventually couldn't make the payments so he had to go to public school and every day she made her living by watching two very privileged children, so she felt entitled to their lifestyle and disrespected by the work she did for the family. Now her kid is growing up with his only parent in prison for the rest of her life :( its all sad

@Andrea Stevens as much as i agree, prison is actually better. think about it, why should she get the easy way out just to die when she can suffer every minute in prison until the day she dies. death penalty nowadays for these crimes is nothing compared to let people *suffer*
@Andrea Stevens Actually her suffering in prison is much more appropriate for her then taking the easy way out with death but yea I won't care if she's was killed.
Ling xoxo You just have to be careful about who you find. I’m a nanny and I think it’s the best job ever. I love these kids, and treat them like I would my own. I want to be a mom someday, but right now it’s not an option for me since I’m not even 19 quite yet.
Emily Young I understand. Just most of these nannies seem nice or not crazy or anything when they we're first hired and then they snap or something and this happens.
If she wants to see the mother's reaction then she's not insane, she was conscious of her actions. The "insane" or "being crazy" is an excuse not going to jail. She knew what she did. Evil and vile.
No need to explain or elaborate nothing that's added to this makes it any better being "insane" or not is NO excuse to even think about doing something like this its vile beyond all levels. Speachless
@@T20Prod If someone were truly, legally insane (e.g., being so mentally deranged as to lose the ability to distinguish right from wrong), it doesn't make sense to treat that person the same as someone who is legally sane. That being said, the evidence in this case would suggest that the killer knew right from wrong and chose to do wrong, anyways.
my mom would also tell me she will never put trust on anyone to take care of her children. Heck she took care of her five kids by herself. I'm impressed of her and also thankful because I only experience my mother's love and my mother's love only throughout my childhood
*Usk 1907* I'm so pleased to hear that. I used work for a babysitting agency. Myself & the other sitters would be contacted by text from the agency & given a list of details to choose from of parents needing a sitter. Parents would leave their babies with us having no knowledge of us, apart from the references from the Agencies, that any one of us could have falsified.
If she hates her job so much, she should've just quit. It's not like they're locking her up and forcing her to work for them by having her family as hostage. What kind of demon kills for that stupid reason?!
That was just an excuse. She was jealous of the mother and wanted to hurt her. She even stuck around to wait to see her reaction. Evil beyond imagination.
Your comment reminded of that scene when Harvard hottie tried to explain to Nanny to just quit if being a Nanny to Grayer was bothering her. At least she had the decency to unload pent up anger into the nanny cam, hidden in a toy bear.
@@stoneghana4171 True, we don't know what she was asked to do. But, even if she was asked to do the work of ten nannies...she has the option to say no, and quit her job, as you said. As a former nanny myself, I first worked for a family who was ridiculous in their expectations. Probably, way worse than these parents, and for very low pay. They were liars, and cheaters, and I worked at least 14 hour days every day. They had an adorable toddler son. I knew after just a few months that I could not stay at that job. I got right to work finding a better job, gave my notice, and moved on to a great job that I was happy at. But, not once did I ever think of taking my unhappiness out on their beautiful son. I actually felt really bad that I had to move on and often wondered how he was doing. This woman is just cra cra ..but not that she didn't know what she was doing. She knew exactly what she was doing and had zero remorse for her actions! Absolutely disgusting woman
You don't do something like this unless you want to punish somebody, I have a feeling the parents or at least one of them has treated the nanny like dirt and the nanny has decided to get her revenge. I don't condone it obviously but there's a saying in the restaurant world "you don't mess with the people who handle your food", well this woman looked after their kids and if either of them looked down on the nanny or treated her badly well it's backfired on them spectacularly...
