Based on a Real incident if I recall; some guy comes in with a BB Gun at KNBC Los Angeles, and he asks a reporter to read a statement (which the reporter did) before the gunman got hauled off.

Thankfully Miles landed safely in the arms of his loving girlfriend and future wife Pamela. She would comfort him.
