Murray Cod Surface Heartbreak 

One of the greatest set backs of surface fishing for Murray cod is the low hook up rate!! On the plus side the strikes are very exciting!! I love surface fishing for cod.

Bit hard to "play" fish when you know for certain there are snags everywhere and they drive straight for them every time. Great video definitely shows the excitement and disappointment of surface fishing all in one!!

Its all worth it for the strikes, I enjoy them even if they are not landed. I have got my biggest fish to date all off the surface.

Yeah mate its a low gear ratio reel, and I was winding to get the tension on him but he had already spat it. None the less, thanks for the sarcastic comment.

i dunno how often that has happened to me but the night where i had like 30 in a row.....frustrating as beeeeeeeeeeep! :)
