RIVER MURRAY FLOOD UPDATE - THURSDAY 8TH DECEMBER 2022 -
- MURRAY RIVER FLOODS -
Join us today as we check out the historic flood level markers along the Mildura Riverfront. We are now well over the 1975 flood levels and there is still more water to come.
After a short look at the floodwaters around the Mildura Riverfront, the Mildura Wharf, and Nowingi Place, We then head over the George Chaffey Bridge to the Buronga side of the Floodwaters. The Buronga Caravan Park is well underwater now, as well as several local homes that have been inundated as their private levees have failed.
We wish everyone the best as the whole district braces for the coming floodwater to finally peak.

That is a strong current YY, a lot of tannins in the water as well? . Great real report YY . Can you do some sticky roo bits , would love to see a raspberry jam glazed tail, you will be getting well fed on them yabbies soon

I guess that’s the water from the Darling pushing the level up now, so much of that is from rain way up here in QLD way back in March. 6 days straight in March I emptied my rain gauge twice a day, each morning it had overfilled overnight so we were getting over 300mm per 24 hours for six days, then it kept up solid showers around 70 - 100mm a day for 6 weeks after that, we were trying to lay a cement slab for the house, ended up 3 months behind due to rain.

1956 must have been a very wet year. As that’s the year Lake Eildon was finished and it filled the same year. Plus the biggest floods since.

Yes look at the flood patterns,the La Nina occurs about every 20 years or so. Nothing to do with global warming or climate change.

Looks like the old bridge pylons might be completely under.... I remember years ago around the mid to late 70's crossing that old bridge when I drove from Sydney to Adelaide....this was my favorite route......still is :)

66 years since the next highest in living memory, the 56-year floods. I don't have any information on any news about how much more it is expected to rise. Thanks, Y Y, for the continuity.

We can only wait and see...and hope all the people living in the lower areas near the mighty Murray River are all ok.....
