Hi, I had to bring this update a few days early as we are due to have a high wind cold weather week!
Today we look at Mannum, Mannum Waters, Cowirra and Mypolonga. Water is dropping fast. At Mannum it is dropping at around 4cm per day!
Hopefully in no time life on the Murray will turn back to normal

We drove through Mannum today to find that you can’t see much from the ground. Good view from Mannum lookout. But best viewing is via drone footage on this channel. Thank you for sharing your videos. 😊

Awww thank you 😊 and you’re most welcome 😁 once they remove the levee down the Main Street it will open up, I believe that will be weeks away before they do that. Drones are a wonderful little thing with eyes! Thank you once again for your kind words and watching 😊

Thanks for another great video. Looks like the waters are going to take a long while to recede back to non flood levels. Thanks for putting up the chart of flood levels over the years at around the 10:00 mark. Interesting for comparison and the 1956 flood far exceeds the current one (amazingly). Interesting to note there were floods in 1952, 1955 and 1956 and 1973, 1974 and 1975. None of those as bad as the current one (apart from the 1956 flood) but goes to show you can't rule out a flood the following year just because you've just had one - it actually seems to happen reasonably often. But fingers crossed there's no more floods for a while.

Thank you very much 😁definitely will take a long time to get there, but I was shocked at seeing approx 4cm a day drop rate when you see that amount of water spread out so far and the Murray Mouth is not that large, however yes, still a long time to go! There is a few back to back floods and hoping it's a 1931 event with no follow up. There is still a fair flow coming down the Darling river that will keep adding to the Murray. Fingers crossed the eastern states weather behaves

Excellent filming and editing - an all night job, no doubt?! Thank you for recording our history so well, though I do wonder if we’ll ever return to “normal”.

Aww thank you very much, 😁 a few hours required You’re welcome and thank you 😊 I’m not sure on normal for the people along the river, but visitors will see no difference in 6 - 12 months and carry on as normal. Thank you again for watching

I still struggle with the logic of building on a floodplain and then getting flooded

Great video, thanks for posting. It looks like they did a great job with the Mannum levy, it seems like it protected the town well. @1:10 it looks like those levy's are to protect infrastructure, I wonder if they will become permanent? 🙂
@KMadventurers
@KMadventurers Год назад
Thank you and you’re very welcome 😁 they sure did, they kept a constant look and patched when required. I’d put a wager on that most infrastructure like pump stations etc. will keep their levy’s permanently. Thanks once again for watching 😁

Thank you, another fantastic video and the text duration is perfect. Gives me time to read the text then look at video before it moves on. We are going to Mannum tomorrow so it’s great to see the river from your perspective. You are doing a great job providing us with updates. Much appreciated.
