I can't believe he was 83 & still doing this! Absolutely incredible man, we were blessed to have him be the voice of our beloved Sport. RIP Murray Walker
What a legend. 4:15 Also his interaction with Ron Dennis gives me chills, saying if Lewis can survive the opening lap, he'll be fine the rest of the way, and knowing what he did in the opening lap... it is truly incredible.
This video seemed to vanish from RU-vid awhile ago, but now you've uploaded another copy! Great seeing Murray Walker doing a grid walk! He did a great job at it too.
There will never be another commentator like him. Wonderful at his job and his autobiography is a great read. Fascinating man and life. Always missed ❤️
RIP Ron Walker (seen here on the grid talking to Murray). He was a great man, businessman, Lord mayor of Melbourne, and responsible for bringing formula 1 back to Oz.
I don't even like Formula 1 or any motor racing but Murray Walker's passion and his child like emphusiasm had a way of convincing me that I did. The man could make something mundane like a tyre change seem like the moon landing.
It’s because Martin is a smart ass whereas Murray just wanted to ask some pretty obvious questions. You’ll also notice how Murray greases people’s ego. Martin doesn’t really do that.
It’s because the people on the grid were motor racing people. They were there for the cars and the racing. Liberty have turned it into a circus with people who are there for self promotion rather than motor racing
It's a one off interview with a motor racing legend, which might of been his last, so makes sense to talk to him and get the sponsors airtime. Likewise for nearly all of them he was their voice of F1 growing up.
He did do a BBC Radio 5 Live Commentary on the 2007 European GP & he did commentate from 1997 to the 2001 USA GP for ITV, which was his final race. I'll find a link for the European GP for you & post it shortly.
At the time (2007), ITV broadcast F1 in the UK and Brundle was an employee. Murray Walker was working freelance for Channel Ten in Australia and nothing to do with ITV.
@@andrewbarker4986 The guy is asking where is Brundle and why he's isn't doing the grid walk not where he is now. At least that's what I think he's trying to say.
It's not just that he was the best in his time he's the best of all time. The sooner the people running F1 and the various media outlets realise they need to be ambitious and go and find a new Murray Walker the better.
