Muscle Car Of The Week Video Episode #135: 1966 Dodge Coronet 426 Hemi
#musclecar #v8tv
www.musclecaroftheweek.com - 1966 saw the introduction of the 426 Steet Hemi, a slightly more docile version of the mighty 426 race version from the previous several years. In this video, we take a look at an otherwise unassuming 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 that features a Hemi / 4-speed punch, and is still in its original condition. From the Brothers Collection.

The whole car is amazing, but that original paint is unreal.

'Vettes and pony cars are cool. but these ordinary cars with extraordinary drivetrains are the most interesting to me. Especially original unrestored. No wonder this is a favorite in their collection!

in 1966 one of the dealers in town had one I wanted it bad, but I was 17 years old and my father wouldn't sign so in1968 I bought a 68 ss 396 instead. but I still like the looks of the coronet.

Beautiful car but I find it hard to believe that hemi has never been restored. Perfect shiny engine paint and 47k and 55 years old? Not too sure. But again she's a dandy Mopar!

Never heard of a 2 door sedan until now. Please explain.

Big Box'y car? Two door sedan? You left out mundane, and a few more insults. Only redeeming quality is the hemi? This is a two door hardtop sir. One of the best looking cars Chrysler ever made. Ripped, chiseled, and sharp looking, It is just not a cartoonishheavy bloated looking 68-70 B Body.
@Joshcheyka
@Joshcheyka 7 лет назад
The 68-70 B bodies were much sexier sir, but these are still very beautiful cars with a lot of character, you're trying to compare a hot flat chested woman to a even hotter woman with big tits, most likely trying to make excuses for her because shes what you've got and she doesn't have big tits. To me 68 was the Zenith for mopar B bodies, especially the 68 GTX, round marker lights and awesome rear panel, even the 68 charger had an awesome rear end dual tail light on each side, ton of character.

Loved the early sleeper Hemi cars. As a Mopar man the 66 Hemi Belvedere's and Coronets might be my favorite muscle cars out of any of them. No nonsense street brawlers. Also love the 62-65 413/426 Max Wedge cars with the cross ram intakes. Low 12s right out of the box before even doing any modifications to them......all while looking like grandma's car. The sleepers are the coolest out of all the muscle cars I think. Dont really care for wild colors, stripes, and spoilers like many of the later muscle cars had
@jeremythompson9895
@jeremythompson9895 5 лет назад
I love the no nonsense look of the 426 Hemi powered 1966 Plymouth Belvedere and Dodge Coronet. I'm a Ford guy but Mopar ruled the muscle car era with an iron fist, and the 66 Hemi Belvedere and Coronet are my favorite cars of that entire era

Yep, just pile in the whole family and go for a coast to coast cruise in your Coronet Hemi. Such a practical car. Oh, and did we mention the 6 mpg fuel economy?
@dannyfasttcars5279
@dannyfasttcars5279 Год назад
In stock trim with 3.23 gears(stock with a auto and 3.54 (stock with a 4-sp) crusing down the highway they will get 20 mpg. When the foot is into it single digit MPG is possible lol

One person who watched this obviously has no genitals or knowledge of high performance cars. A Honda with a fart can exhaust is not a muscle car, sports car, or high performance car of any kind. I could put NOS on my John Deere lawnmower and make it fast LOL
@SquillyMon
@SquillyMon 5 лет назад
Not sure who you are arguing with but...I would say they are both high performance... I've owned many of both, no fart cans however. Some morons still try to talk smack on small engines and forget or cant calculate that they are producing more hp per cubic inch/cc than anything from the 60's. That's the definition of high performance... No?
