Cop def told that first guy he was gonna get arrested if he beats him lmfao (had to correct my spelling didn’t know my old hs English teachers were here and cared so much 💀)
@ThatBoyjensen your right i don’t have a car I have a Shelby but he was full throttle the issue was he had traction control on so it kept cutting power because it kept sensing wheel spin
Actually altho heavier cause of equipment and bulletproofing police cars are much more powerful than the standard version. fastest cop car in US is an f150 raptor svt police interceptor 0-60 is 4.2 secs and top speed is 200 mph
That's what I'm saying, I'm in Florida myself and I don't understand how the explorers are so slow in this video. I feel like they are holding back because even the chargers look slow and I'm no observation expert but it looks like that charger would just barely beat my Grand Cherokee. They are holding back, they don't want people to know just how much power that they are really holding.
@@shamaYahu8635 it is just the fact the strip is so sticky the rwd cars can get up and go. Normal roads police has way better acceleration because of grip
I got up and pulled on a Charger pretty good on a Yamaha R1 I had rented a couple years ago in Jacksonville. It was scary how well he paced me until his torque fell off at 150 mph. These vehicles are no fucken joke.
After seeing an Explorer Interceptor accelerate from normal to "you're screwed" speeds in just a few seconds I have a bit more respect for them than I used to. Don't get me wrong, I am generally impressed by the likes of the Explorer ST, plus it looks pretty nice and has good lines, but with all that extra equipment and still seeing that thing go lights and sirens and get up to highway speeds as quick as it does is pretty cool. More than enough to catch the average person on the road any day of the week.
As a rookie 17 years ago. I was assigned a 96 chevy caprice the 350 Lt1. Only one in the fleet. Everyone else had ford crown vics. My unit was much faster...👍
Or they're just not that fast... Likely because they're really heavy (especially with all the equipment) and police departments don't want to spend a big chunk of the budget on tuning the police cars. Plus there's no real advantage to them being faster. Any person that's running from them in the first place probably isn't gonna stop and give up just because the police car is keeping up with him. It's only gonna make the person running drive even more reckless to get away, increasing the possibility of bystanders getting hurt/killed. That's why they have helicopters.
That would be terrible for revenue generation, most cars that get pulled over (for speeding atleast) are more than capable of actually outrunning the cop car 😂
they can definitly beat 160 and with out any limiters I wouldnt be shocked at 220. My infiniti limiters stop me at 155 which isnt a fast car in comparison. Also majority of cop cars are limited to 130 (alot of cops arnt very experience with high speeds on roads and they dont want a novice to chase someone going faster than that)
@@theglassarrow_ did you just say 220... an unrestricted R/T 5.7 will MAYBE touch 160, let alone a state trooper car with 500 pounds or more of gear, and a worse drag coefficient due to the light bar.
@@ShadowTheSC bro I can tell a v6 infiniti 3.7 300hp can go past 155 stock with out restrictions, I know this from experience. I think dodge's dedicated sports cars with signifitly better 1/4 mile times arnt ganna be capped at 160mph without restrictions. And there is cars heavier than a explorer that can go faster, cops just have a universal top speed of 130.
Don't think people realize that explorer STs make 405bph and are AWD. Those car can move when needed. 0-60 in 5 seconds. Meanwhile that R/T only make 372bph and is heavier.
@@ZacharyDarkes Actually it's not. The Police Packages usually only add heavier duty suspension and gear and better engine and trans cooling so they can last when being ran hard.
The first R/T isn't a 5.7, it's a 392. They have like 485 bhp. These guys suck at launching. I can talk because I actually have a vid of my hellcat uploaded running a 6.9 1/8th mile and that was summer heat. I ran a 10.5 1/4 mile in March 2022 at Bowling Green, KY.
@@gluckhunterjr.9344 Hey I could be wrong, but I've never see a 392 have an R/T badge on it. If it's a 392 then you're right badboy needs a driver mod bad 😅
I liked how you zoomed in for the GT500! Former owner of a 03 black Cobra convertible. Now owner of a 2011 black GT500 and a 2008 Black Chip Foose F150.
Me: *Gets Pulled Over* Also Me: "Officer, I don't have enough money for the ticket so how about we do this.. If you beat me in a drag race I'll pay the ticket but if I win I don't have to." Police Officer: "Hmm.."
That first one. A 392 runs like a sub 13 second quarter mile. And the 392 pulls way harder than that off the line. And that purple hellcat. Didn't even try.
Swear to god the state troopers on 321 in Lincolnton nc are fast asf I was racing this souped Chevy impala in my mustang and he gapped me I passed at state trooper going 67 in a 65 that impala passed me going 110 easy when I tell you that state trooped turned his car on and HAWKED that impala down I mean way quicker than these haha
@@Treyk901 you don't know what a mass airflow sense is do you? You ever see someone changing the tune on an efi system for mountain driving......ya know why????? Look it up. Learn something.
Yeah I was pretty impressed. I'm not a Camaro guy but I'm assuming it's an LS or something similar. That Nova is way too built to be so close to a stock road car. Seriously impressive of the Camaro.
@@JO-ly3hi True. But I've also seen ebay turbo Hondas run 10's and 9's on this track before. Didn't realize aspersion makes that much of a difference at altitude.
@@zacharyfeit4858 No one is making aspersions against anything. Naturally aspirated vehicles take a mighty hit at altitude. I don't know how bad it is for boosted because I'm not into that...I just know that naturally aspirated vehicles take at least a second hit at Bandimere...more if the DA is really bad.
Funny thing is, these police cars are super heavy with engines specially tuned to reach high speeds 150mph+ and stay glued to the pavement. All while someone on the run will challenge a light curve at high speed in a super fast lighter built car w/ suspension and still lose it and crash or be forced to slow down.
@@jacobgreenhalgh4257 what are you talking about, been racing track for decades, kiddo? I know they are tuned, I also know they add a lot of weight so in high speed pursuit they can stay glued to the road. Do you know how to read, or should I read it again for you? Kids these day….
@@jacobgreenhalgh4257 a typical Ford Explorer has 4300-5000 pounds, a squad car had 6,000 plus pounds with equipment, someone skipped class on lug nut nut day, 😂
@@jacobgreenhalgh4257 I’m saying with the extra the equipment a squad car has, gives it an advantage over a quicker lighter vehicle. You obviously know nothing about this concept. I feel like I’m communicating with a wall. A heavy car/suv/truck, will maintain more traction at a higher rate of speed than a much lighter vehicle attempting the same speed with stability.
@@jacobgreenhalgh4257 how have you never tracked a vehicle, or yet have posted such proof, and still argue with physics you know nothing about. You can attempt to insult & troll, but the deeper this goes, the more you expose lack of knowledge on this subject.
in the first challenger vs the explorer I honestly thought that the challenger would dust the explorer. but when they went the explorer got the challenger

It really doesn't take much to escape from the police. You just have to know what you're doing. I was driving through Georgia and got chased for speeding and decided to run and I had no idea where I was going but somehow managed to get away. I think the trick is just to make yourself too risky to continue to follow. They really don't peruse you longer than several minutes unless they have a damn good reason too. A speeding ticket just ain't enough of a reason for them to risk causing an accident by continuously chasing you on a public road.
Yeah those officers aren't going full throttle. I have a 4 cylinder with 175hp that does 15.2 at 90mph and it's 21 years old. There's no way those new police chargers can't go 14s, 13s, or even 12s
Funny part is its a straight line drag strip. Irl you rarely see vehicles outrun police. They might stop chasing but they already have your plate. A few get by but not many. Cool comparison though. Thumbs up from me
