It's the vocal track you can hear faintly, when Matt says "a fuss". Remember this is not a separated instrumental track, just the album version with vocals removed by a software. Sometimes when voices reaches certain notes, mixed whith the instruments (plus the alterations and production the record went through in studio), the software can't make the difference with human voice and the rest, and some of it bleeds in.
I swear I searched this because I I thought I had heard something around 3:45 in the original song but I didn't know that much background was there! Absolutely beautiful
I always thought the song was good. Played it here and there since I heard it first a couple years ago. Then I blasted it during a pizza delivery a few days ago. I went crazy finding yet another humble piece of treasure in a Muse song. The last chorus came on and I lost it. Sadly the high vocals are not loud enough and for some reason, the more I listen, the more quiet, lost, and distant that part of the song feels. It’s legendary I guess you can say.
Damn I'm convinced if those beautiful backing vocals near the end and throughout were more prominent in the mix this song would've been a chart topper and had a lot more attention

@@debasegrog5153 Matt told in an early interview (absolution era) he was agnostic. Fury is a song about being forced to trust in a religion, which he has been by some people during a time.
