sooooo good. You know Matt scored the whole gospel choir section just for a laugh on his day off. Chris doing a great job with the backing vocals here and on Pressure. Lovely brush drumming from Dom, and Jools knocks it out the park as usual. 10/10.
SpiderPig NYC all the songs mentioned liquid state / assassin are just rock or alternate rock no way are they considered metal. Listen to sic by slipknot to hear what metal sounds like
So beautiful! I hope they perform Dig Down in a way like this on the next tour. But I have to say that I like the studio version as well. Love this song!
This version wont fit the aesthetics of their upcoming tour with the whole 80's retro theme. Apparently, this will be the biggest tour they have ever done with the effects.
Andrew Patterson I've seen them twice but they never played dig down. to be fair the first time I saw them the song didn't exist! Some songs do sound better live though, I didn't like starlight much but was impressed when I heard it live.
Pretty sure Matt said he wants to strip it back, because the technology kept breaking during the last tour. They want to do more with live performers though
Aldi Achmad being a musician means knowing what to play which sometimes means playing nothing, a lot of bands in this genre particularly Karnivool use this philosophy to great effect by writing in layers, all creating space for each other to interweave in and sometimes that means playing nothing or very little. Personally I think Dom is doing what he thinks is most appropriate here helping to create a very powerful performance. Sometimes silence is golden.
I feel like the original is just not the whole story. You need to hear this version too to understand the full picture and the roots of the melody and harmony.
This is just brilliant I so love Matt singing acoustic and what a lovely touch from Jools Holland. I can't wait until I see Muse live once more. My favourite band ever.
Live. Playing versions. Something human about it. It is very pleasant to hear you guys now "stadium band" play less produced and more earthy songs. Hearing the piano and seeing the joy of Jools & Matt having jammed together at the end makes it worth to me.
First.. I thought this will be awkward.. Then I said to myself.. This is MUSE, and then I was f***** blown away! What a masterpiece, everybody was just spot on! Bravo!
This is why I love MUSE, incredible live performances every time you watch them. Vocals are unreal, backing group are off the chart and really make this version something special, Dom showing he can be subtle, Chris, well what can I say but passionate and as for Jools well, simply stunning accompaniment on the ivories. I will never tire of watching them whatever they do
The first time I heard "Dig Down" on radio a couple of years ago, didn't much like it. Later, listened more to the word/meaning of the song. Today in 2020, it mirrors what I have been going through in life. Thank you, MUSE, for all the great music you do and version. It is so inspirational in such difficult times as this. ❤🇬🇧👍
1mil time.. Personal preference, I love more live version than album.. it mean that they're good if the live version is better than album, In general for every band
Feckin epic & glorious!! If this doesn't make you smile and make life a little brighter then you're a dull husk of a being! Muse (Matt Bellamy) are superbly talented and have always had their own unique sound, but I do miss their old stuff..Showbiz & Absolution are their greatest in my opinion.
I love the reaction of the guy from one of the other acts performing on the night at 2:08 and his approving nod that he is witnessing something special. Respect from a fellow musician must be satisfying and rightfully so.
this is rich green. I reckon this should be the Xmas and new year no1. can't stop replaying this. omg..muse are amazing. so can't wait for their new album. 👍✌
I could've fallen in love with the song if this version were released first... Can we just forget about the one we got at first and go on with this like... FOREVER??
My mom passed a week after this was released the daybthe world heard Chris Cornell died i love this forever you promised us twits a gospel song and a dubstep love this song
Jools Hollands show has its place, great bands creating special moments and even better versions of their songs, played how they should be, live and real!!
