I once delivered some parcels to a couple of the muse band members, in the quiet country lanes of the Cotswolds. Maybe the early 2000's I didn't realise it was them, just skidded up the gravel drive, with a muse song pumping out of the vans speakers. Singing loudly. I banged on the front door, had a quick conversation with the drummer I believe, apologised for the loud music, and explained it was a band called muse, who I loved the sound of. The puzzled look on his face is still in my memories. I have bought every album, but never had the time, or the money, or both to see them live unfortunately. This song in particular hits me hard. It's almost a scream of total frustration at the inequality, suffering, murder, destruction and unfairness in the world we have created. Almost like Muse have are losing hope. I thought I would just remind them of one thing. As long as being kind, and having empathy with other people, and creatures, is a virtue, there is always hope. Yes these ideals are under attack, but we are the generations that will protect them. With our words, our films and games. Our art, and science. Our music. So keep singing muse, keep reminding the human race that we have kindness and empathy, and with it hope for the future. No matter how long it takes. We will prevail.

From Uprising, to Dig Down, to Time is Running Out, to this, I'd say Muse has their fingers on the pulse of the world! What an excellent summation of the mindset of a whoooooooole lot of people around the world, packed into a hell of a rocking song. SO hard, SO awesome. Muse, you always amaze me with your wonderful music, thank you.

This song hits a lot harder and more brutally honest than Sayo Hikawa's harsh remarks of not keeping up with her guitar playing. That's also Muse's way of saying the joke's on all of us for not listening to what they have been warning us through their music. As they said: We Really Are Getting Fucking Fucked!

I'm an OG (pre-twilight) muse fan whose interest started to decrease after the resistance. Everything before black holes was genius imo. Don't get me wrong, I loved that album too but after that...
