Wondering if you happen to have a series that is strictly about 'playback' -how to open a file, adjust page size, use the metronome, mixer etc - basics for beginning students who are just watching and listening.
I'm trying to get the page to fit my tablet. The windows stretch too far down and i can't hit or even see buttons like "apply" etc. I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a fix for this. I know i managed it a couple years back when i had this same issue but I cannot figure it out now nor find the answer anymore with my new laptop. it's so frustrating.
Thank you SO much for these tutorials! I'm making theory tests for my state music teacher's association, and have been running into issues while trying to use other software... such as not being able to "hide" time signatures and such, when I want the students to fill those elements in as an answer to a question. I wanted to be able to make the staff larger, too. This helps the younger children, who normally draw notes rather large, to position their note heads on the correct line or space. I appreciate these... again, thank you!
0:58 I seriously wish I could give you ten likes for this video. I can't believe I've been doing this the slowest way possible when the efficient way was right in front of me. Thank you. Thanks a million. What I was trying to do in the past was go through EVERY single measure and change the size. It took a long time and I thought "there has got to be a better way to do this." I really had no idea what the breaks and spaces were.
Hi, Do you know how to do this in MuseScore 4? The commands "expanding (highlight select, then shift + ] )" and "shrinking (highlight select, then shift + [ )" dosen't work.
Thank you for this video. Lots of information. A friend showed me how to place the cursor on a bar & hit return which also dropped the next measures to the next line. What I need to know is how do decrease the space between the lines so I can fit 2 tunes (32 bars each with repeats) on a page. Thanks for any input you might have.
Thank you, I love your "WELCOME" at the beginning of each video...your RULE !!! Hey, is there any way to make "one staff per page"? What I'm trying to do is make a RU-vid video that the music goes along with what my chart and I'm just not sure how we do that. I see it all the time on other guys tutorials. thank you so much, Steve
Thanks for your videos. How do I move a bar up? To move a bar down to the next staff, I highlight the bar line and press Enter anf the bar moves to the next staff, but what about moving a bar to the upper staff? Is there a simple way? Thanks!
Hello Kyle, I’m learning a lot by watching your videos. I have one quick question. Can I use this method of shirking the notes for cue notes? Thank you!
Thanks. congratulations! But i need resize only a group of notes. Do you know about it? I don't want to reduce the entire score, just a group of notes.
Hi Kyle, Thanks for the video. A small criticism: to stretch a bar or bars, you say to use shift+'['. That is true for some keyboard layouts but by no means for all. It wouldn't work on a Canadian multi-lingual keyboard nor on keyboards such as German, Spanish, Latin American, Belgian and many more. MuseScore itself wants to see '{', however it is keyed on the keyboard. It would be more helpful to say "key '{', which is shift+'[' on a US keyboard but may be different on yours".
I am trying to find out how to make my staffs or staves larger. For example: I want to use Musecore to just print some blank sheets of music and choose different sizes for the staves. Could you direct me to this programming information. Thanks
HI, thanks for the great tips, I think I'm doing something wrong on this one. when I drag the spacer down the mouse just drag the whole page instead of just pulling the spacer. please help.
Hey! Is it possible to join two lines in one? Like when you have two parts of flute but in the score for a conductor you need them to be in one line. Is it possible only by voice addind? It seems to be not so comfortable.
Only one question.... If I have 4 beats in a measure and I place 8 8th notes, than later I need to change one of the middle notes to a quarter note, how can I have the program slide everything to the right? Instead of deleting a note?
I have several measures that are taking up the whole page. The rest are appropriate size. How can I shrink those measures to fit with the rest. For example I set page breaks at 4 measures but some measures take the whole page
Hello! Thank you for your extremely helpful video! A lot of cool life hacks! Do you know if it is possible to make some corrections separately in a full score and in parts? For instance, I need to put fingers or a bow directions in a part, but I don't need it in a full score. And vice verse I need to put some marks in the full score for conductor but we don't need it in parts. Is it possible in musescore?
I wanted to stretch my measures to 4 on a line.I was following along but nothing happened when I dragged the icon to the measure. Now I can't try again because that icon has disappeared from Breaks and Spacers. Help please.
Deleting a rest on MuseScore (attempting to leave an empty measure) deletes the entire measure. If you want to delete this rest anyways do Command + Delete if you're on a Mac. Or, I think Control + Delete if you're on a Windows 10.
I keep having problems when i delete notes, it literally changes every other measure notes that are other instruments and it will shrink the measures so i can only place two quarter notes in them instead of four
Dude please answare me to this, how do i change the order of the last measure if they are already set, how do i delete every preset and add my own, please answare
the program desperatelly needs option to manually adjust width of every individual measure - but literal click&drag...as well as move a measure to previous system with single button...these are only things which musescore sucks at (while for example finale has it)
My solution is to click on a lyric, then 'right click' and select > all similar elements. After that press F8 (which brings up the Inspector Pallette) and choose your font and size etc.
Thank you. I have trouble adding alto voice. it keeps changing every note when I try to add an alto voice. Can you please demonstrate adding the alto voice using different note values to the soprano voice. Colette
@@colettedennehy6086 I don't know the answer, probably you should pose this question to the root of the forum ...that way more people besides me will see your question. But .... possibly when you want to add the second voice, try choosing 2,3, or 4 (they're at the top of the screen) when you're adding another 'voice' ???
Please, get used to not only naming the shortcut commands. Keyboards vary from OS to OS and country to country. Mine does not have brackets for instance.
It's very helpful, although I was also looking for ways to like standardize measures so they are all the same size. Especially when I want to insert whole note chords in one measure. Wouldn't it make sense if the measures were standardized like that? PS, also your key signature A is the same as mine, but I'm composing something in B Dorian mode.
