The shocking news straight up, people. This car IS NOT a Toyota. There is NO Toyota badge, and it WASN'T sold through a Toyota dealership. The badge on the car says Toyopet, and was thus bought through a Toyopet dealership. Yeah, okay. It's a Toyota. I've gotta say, I find the ol' Toyopet thing a little baffling. I don't get why there are multiple dealer networks that all sell Toyotas. Well, I get that there are, just not why they sell differently badged cars. I probably shouldn't be singling out Toyota, Prince, I mean Nissan do it, too. Okay, to the car at hand. What a beauty! So clean. And, what a surprise to see a GSS when I'd not seen even a regular Corona Mark II hardtop in all the time I've lived in Japan. It looks like a real performer.

４０年前に乗ってました色も白で前期型新婚旅行で北海道にフェリーで行きました懐かしいですね今見てもサイドのストライプがカッコいいです標準でノンスリ入ってたんですよ。俺らのは壊れて TRDの4ピニ入れました。

you say this car was a highlight of the show, I say it's a highlight of your site, what a beauty and another car I first learnt about from Wasabi, hope you find another one day and hopefully you'll have a bit more room to stand back and get good views from all sides

Wow! Once I had a same car 1974 GSS in same color Jolly White and dark blue stripe. Still shifter knob and GSS emblem are in my drawer(^-^). Thank you !

They do. I've been interested in them for a long time. Except perhaps for about a 8 year period when I moved to Japan and forgot about them. Also though, I'm just trying to make my vids for conversational & relateable. Gotta ways to go. :/

reading your comment on the video, I have to agree. The whole Toyopet thing is a real head scratcher. Im on the fence about it but ive considered the idea of searching out a "Toyopet" badge to replace my "toyota" on my MX22 coupe just to throw even more people off. Every time I drive it, without fail I get asked what it is. Because NOBODY KNOWS.

I was also surprised to see the Toyopet badge. I still don't really get that Toyota has several branded dealers. They are all Toyota to me. Nissan too. You can buy a Nissan from Prince or you can buy a Nissan from Nissan.... I don't get it.

2代目マーク2のGSSですが前が後期型で後ろが前期型のようになってますね❗おそらくは前期型の車両がベースでしょう‼️エンジンルームも排ガス規制装置が付いていない仕様ですから！綺麗で好感の持てる車ですから大事にして欲しいです❗

という事はかなり大変なレストアですね、後期モデルは排気ガス規制準備の関係でエンジンルームが拡大されているのでパネル取付も容易ではなかったはずです。

Oh, sh*t! Sorry, I got your email but then it slipped my mind. How's this for funny. That car doesn't live there. It looks like they were just using the parking space until whoever did live there moved in! I assume they were family or friend... If I see it again, I'll try to sneak a peek at the vin.

I doubt it. I just show cars I see around Japan. Buying/selling is of no interest to me. Also, I show videos of cars that other people own. If a car is for sale, I wouldn't know

wow i find this car appealing although i am absolutely clueless about it... also at a loss with the "toyopet" designation. i thought that was long gone before the 70's. (daniel! check your email! i need to you to raid your neighbor's mustang for a VIN ^_^ )
