Ambiguous Rex was a product of the 80s, and so it was inevitable that the Cold War and constant threat of nuclear annihilation would color their music, as it does in this song, "Mushroom Cloud (Cold War Hot Love)." In retrospect, the double entendres are flying fast and furious in this song, but back in the 80s most people didn't pick up on them and thought it was just another song about nuclear war and holding onto your loved ones. These days we know better. Still. it's a solid intro track to the album, and really set the mood for what was to come.
