New York Chinese Cultural Center is excited to present our Chinese Music Appreciation Series led by musician Yang Wang. This educational series will showcase different instruments with a discussion on the history and cultural significance of each instrument. Instruments will include erhu, dizi, guzheng, pipa and zhongruan.
This week, we will be showcasing another well-known Chinese instrument - Guzheng. Wei Sun, a talented Guzheng player will join Yang to share the distinct northern and southern playing styles, each comprising schools specific to a region. Enjoy watching Wei's performance and Yang's introduction, while getting a taste of Guzheng from Chaozhou, Hakka, and Shandong.
