This work of neo-classic genius is brilliantly interpreted here. Wish Bartok could have heard it. It's a very special performance.

This whole movie is about the caricature of the left hand. Mesmerizingly precious.

Fantastic performance! The players were SO tight, the sound was incredibly crisp, and the music was reallybrought to life with such passion. You've made this Bartok fan very happy.

Here, as never before, the first movement avoids the oppressiveness I've heard too often, like having kidney stones during a heat wave. It's gentle and almost ethereal, and now I realize the movement simply doesn't need to GRIND miserably. Fans of Frank Martin's Petite Symphonie Concertante (1944-46), myself included, need to hear this work (1936) to notice how much got stolen.

After Seymour Hersch's explosive journalism concerning NordStream 2 and Norway's participation in the largest act of infrastructure terrorism in our history, wouldn't it be fitting - following the same rules such symphonies have displayed over the last 2 years - that this orchestra and conductor be cancelled? I think yes.

Well no, unfortunately not what I expected. I waited for the contrasts and stunning transitions in vain. The Gürzenich-Orchester Cologne with Péter Eötvös proved to be much more successful recently.

One of the most thrilling pieces of music ever written, but this performance lacks the energy this music demands. Too Nordic, perhaps?

Not for me.Plenty of other recordings on you-tube are better.Compare this with Bernstein and theNew York.Vasily is too slow and boring.
