I only found out recently he's played with some of the greats, on some of my favourite songs. I was loving his RU-vid channel and these songs separately without knowing it was the same guy. Like he played on Tom Waits' Going Out West, which k only found out because he's also a journalist and wrote an article about baritone guitars I happened to stumble upon and enjoy before scrolling up and looking who wrote the article. Man of many talents, he is
-Acchhh, had written a comment, but must have hit "cancel" instead of "comment". Coming to this late, (after following up on the release of your album - and congratulations on that, sir.) So very nice, lifts the spirits, 2 years later, there is still need for the unique medicine offered by melody, for this plague still carries on..... One Man Cafe Orchestra - it's so nice to see and hear the panoply of instruments (harmonium! cumbus saz - replete witz fez! melodica! toy piano!! ), the cueing, (the watch check, the just-in-timing of the headless tambourine). A good time for early music. So many riches to be re-found there. (I'd not thought of it in years, there was a great early music show by a guy named Stu Witmer, on a community radio station in Seattle - KRAB - founded in 1962 by Lorenzo Milam, one of the first community radio stations in the U.S. Lucky were those who were within range. And lucky those who chance upon this.) Coincidentally, I'd ordered the Barbara Tuchman book two days ago, and came upon this today. Looking forward very much to hearing the album. Thank you again.
This is fabulous, Joe. A beautiful composition beautifully played, and the video presentation was outstanding, as well. You are prodigiously talented (and your gear writing, if I might add, is the finest on the planet, and that's not hyperbole).
Joe - I just want to say that it’s a damn shame that you don’t have more views and followers. You’re easily one of the best guitarists I’ve ever heard and are always tasteful in what you play. Thank you for the great music and content!
"As I experience certain sensory input patterns, my mental pathways become accustomed to them. The inputs eventually are anticipated and even missed when absent." The absence of your voice was deafening. Thank you for the music.
This amazing piece, performed as only you can, also brought me joy today. Your inimitable style, so clever and full of understated exuberance, brought me much needed laughter. As others have said, I always look forward to your videos. Thank you Joe, you are a blessing!
Beloved imaginary friend, as usual, you do the UN-expected in the most sublime fashion but also, as usual, with a sense of joy, wonder, fun and LOVE. You continue to Inspire as always.
What a lovely thing to say, Doug! This particular piece has been dear to me since the ‘70s. I hope to record an entire album of Montiverdi’s music at some point. Happy holidays!
One of the few channels I have notifications for. Very happy to see this pop up. Two weeks in to 12 weeks shielded quarantine as a highly vulnerable person, this has really helped.
Absolutely wonderful! It's great to see you back! The Viellette sounds incredible again - I first heard it on your channel. Take care and all the best.
You're a damn genius Joe, love your tone also when unplugged. Your channel is one of the fiew musician youtube channel that really spins around music. It's alwas stimulating.
Just discovered your channel via the Firebird pups review. Now sub'ed for all the great, and interesting music. I guess I shouldn't be surprised having found out you worked with PJH, Tom Waits, and Marianne Faithfull. Thanks for that music, and making this whole pandemic thing a little more tolerable. And - great use of the shower! Next - the Bartok (!!)
sorry I'm late - this is a masterpiece - truly Mr Gore you are the greatest musician of modern times. your musicianship and skills with a soldering iron are incredible - you are the only Rockstar that I ever hope to meet - maybe even jam lol
@@joe_gore Wow it's an honor! Quite true, there is so much to learn from other musicians. I look forward to hearing more about the project should you tell. I always wanted to collaborate on a project, it sounds exciting!
Amazing composition Joe, you always inspire me with your playing styles and tone.. Would love to own one of your CULT pedals one day but cannot afford one currently here in the UK. Your pedals are also an inpiration of tone and creativity from what I have seen and heard in your videos. Thanks for your inspirational videos.
lovely stuff. few years ago a choir I was in was rehearsing Monteverdi and there was one thorny line with an intervallic logic that seemed less singable until I realised it was a perfect match for a fretting hand. he was really ahead of his time.
Hey Joe. I'm sorry I missed this a year ago, I could have really used it then. As many others have said there's a lot of guitar dudes on the tube, but you are the only one with any taste! Thanks for sharing it.
Why didn't this wonderful piece show up in my feed? I wouldn't have known about it if I handn't watched your video on Gold Foil pickups. It's so beautiful and uplfiting!
Hey Joe...just came across this and, wow, really made me smile. The sheer diversity of instruments is phenomenal, and bears witness to the accuracy of all the gushing in the comments section. I am so happy to call you my friend and to have the joy of listening to your music. Had no idea you were quarantined; dearly hoping you are OK and now just dealing with the wrist problem. I finally subscribed to your channel so please post again soon; maybe as soon as we have a new President? :=D
@@joe_gore So sorry to hear Joe. Looks like we are both in the same boat I'm nursing 3 broken bones in my foot after falling off a ladder. Take care my friend! Can't wait to see and hear more. Cheers !
Hey Joe, great to have another brilliant video from you on these difficult days! I've been watching so much of your previous content to hopefully plan for future guitar projects. But now we need an article or a video about than giant banjo ! 😁
No, I hadn't, but looking him up just now, I should have! Thanks for that - I have some pleasant listening today. Man, I came THIS close to going down a similar path in life.
BEAUTIFUL! great arrangement Mr. Joe Gore but more importantly_ tell me your health has returned... at yer leisure of course.... In the meantime - once more from da top!
Joe, thank-you; GREAT! Greater still: you've demystified for me--many Line 6 Helix owners I'd wager--the Snapshots feature. Your post, 'The Secret Power of Helix Snapshots' at blog.line6.com provides in my opinion the best primer on this powerful Helix feature. You've opened up a new world of possibilities for us! My Variax, Helix Floor, and Blackstar ID Core Stereo 100 all smile, sing, scream, and dance to eight of your customized Snapshots. Props and total respect Sir! Keep healin' the planet with beautiful music. Dave in Spokane.
By association I also wrote a somwhat macabre ditty about a plague many years ago (budget recording on ipad)... Listen to 1665 by Tale of Sand on #SoundCloud soundcloud.com/taleofsand/1665-retake
I like the fact that you've omitted the voices from the original score to comply with the non-vocal philosophy of your videos. It's better without them in my opinion.
