The point is I believe, to make the silent beginning of his voice, to not feel too muted and isolated and increase the tension of participating something live. Usually you hear this effect on live recordings where the microphone sensitivity gets manually adjusted during the video, when used in a noisy environment
Wtf guys its a true reaction why are you saying its boring? He is not the type of person that the beatboxer just breaths and he will jump out of window saying how that was sick and unbeliavible. His reaction was natural and normal.
I'll spare you with my entire life story :D I'm an audio engineer, so I normally work for people who make music and help them record and produce their songs. The reason my titles say "music producer reacts" is simply for aesthetic reasons. Though I did produce some edm music, mainly remixes, but that was years ago, even before my audio enginering degree. I also do photography and videography, but so far only as a semi professional hobby. Glad you liked my reaction! :)

You probably already have some kind of genre in mind, with a certain BPM and style of typical sounds for this genre. Probably you also already have a certain way of delivering these lyrics. With a rhythm and melody in mind. In that case I would lay out the drums first. Lay them out in a way that fits your way of performing. Try to accentuate certain important lyrical parts by either minimizing drums (Leave out the snare, make the drum pattern less full) or bring variation (Make the pattern more interesting). Record your vocals, with just your drums as assistance. From there. Add baseline that fits your vocals (Key wise, type of sound, feeling), With the lyrics, you try to communicate a certain message, feeling, vibe. You should ensure the sounds you choose match with it. For example if the lyrics are kind of dark and aggressive, You want The drums, instruments, tone color match with that feeling u try to bring across. After that play with instruments to create accompanying Melodie’s / countermelodies. Basically it’s trial and error. And trying out a lot of stuff. See what u like and don’t like. At some point turn off your vocals, and listen to the music. Does it sound like a complete piece of music? If not, make it complete. Then record the vocals again on the final music.
