There was a case in Ohio about 10 years ago where a male teacher was sentenced to 3 years in prison for having a relationship with an 18 year old senior. The crazy part was that she was 18 and the school year was over but since she had not technically graduated they charged him. He’s probably still on the SO registry.

I was a high school and college teacher for thirty years. In that time, I've seen some of these "inappropriate relationships". Here's some things they all had in common: 1. The teachers doing this are always very popular with students but have a reputation for being immature. 2. The administration will try to cover it up if they can. The public never hear of the majority of these cases. 3. Men and women offend in roughly equal numbers. 3. Men and women offenders are treated differently. In the last five cases that happened at schools where I taught, three men had sex with students and two women. The three men were all charged criminally; the two women were not. One of the two women had sex with at least eight students and exhibited no remorse. She's married and she and her husband are still together. 4. Teachers who report this bad behavior of their colleagues are punished and ostracized. I know, because I was one of those teachers. I reported a very popular English teacher for having sex with her students after one of the students confided in me. I had to leave the school the following year because I was harassed by staff and administration after she was forced to resign. 5. Most teachers who do this are allowed to quietly resign mid-school year and go on to teach elsewhere. Everyone on staff knows who the offending teachers are, and turn a blind eye. Cops have the Blue Wall of Silence; teachers have the Chalk Wall of Silence.

Yeah it is fucking sick. My grandfather knew a man who went to school with him. Later in life that guy had sex with a woman who lied about her age and bragged she was dating an older man. She was 15 and he was 28. Well her parents found out and got him arrested. The guy went to jail and was a registered sex offender for the rest of his life. He committed suicide because he couldn't get a good job because of his past. I remember him and he was a good man who truly loved that woman but she did him dirty.

This is confusing. From this report, the letter was from a 'female' student. This seemed to confirm it was not what the husband thought. (A relationship with a male) Although there can be sex acts between two females, there couldn't be 'sexual intercourse' as was reported here. Something doesn't add up. Either way, it's SO WRONG.

Wrong. Age of Consent is 16 years in Pennsylvania Whether male or female - the subject would not and could not be charged unless some other law was broken . Now, in this case - the unlawful contact is being identified and if pornographic material was exchanged / transmitted electronically etc. involving someone under 18 years of age , that's another story but again in no case would someone over 18 and and their sex partner 16 years or older be charged with a crime for the sexual relations themselves . In this case, it's the authority figure (eg. teacher)-student potential for exploitation that did them in.

Had a Science teacher in 8th grade who was fresh out of college, he was probably 24 or 26. He was pretty handsome, and had ALL the girls' attention. He was VERY uncomfortable with it, and on our 8th grade field trip to Washington DC to visit the Smithsonian, he made SURE that his chaperone group of students was all male, and that the female chaperones got all the girls. He wanted to steer clear of that situation as much as possible. lol. That is my benchmark for the correct demeanour - & I do not deviate from same.

I went to school with a girl that was 2 grades below me. We graduated she went to school and became a teacher. Went right back to our high school to teach and got caught sleeping with a student outside of school. She got like 3 years probation and spent 2 monthes in jail. Just a drop in the bucket compared to males sentence. Men are considered predatory because they have the part that goes into something being seen as more aggressive and because women have more ( passive) genitals men get marked as malicious.

I had an English lanugage teacher in high school (married) who had thick lips, a curvy figure and a massive posterior. I noticed that she would get real friendly with one of the boys in my class and the two would often be seen chatting with each other but I have no evidence they were romantically involved. I was not the only one who thought they were flirting but it made me real uncomfortable that it was literally happening in front of my eyes along with the thirty other students in class. Honestly, the idea of a legal age is so muddy because it all comes down to maturity and education to reduce the chances of getting taken advantage of but the issue is that everyone is different and will not mature mentally or grasp subjects as quickly as others. To say that at a certain someone is legally allowed to be held accountable for themselves is just for the sake of an expectation that in that number of years, they will have enough common sense to do the right thing but we still have people well into their twenties and above doing some crazy stuff in the world. The idea that everything goes as long as it's consensual is threatened by the points mentioned earlier. People are just wild creatures.

It's actually not the age by itself that makes this illegal. In the state of Pennsylvania the age of consent is 16. It's the fact that the teacher was in a position of authority AND the student under 18.

I just had a talk with a friend about someone in my neighborhood who's 8 months pregnant. She's my age, 36, and the boy is 18 which means that she got pregnant by him when he was just 17. It's been 30 years since I was in high school and I swear nothing's changed. Couple of the teachers back then got arrested for exactly the same thing she done. I can remember one of them he had a relationships with four or five different girls. both male and female teachers involved in different cases. I work in high schools. This is a common issue amongst young female teachers and male students. These young women become flattered by the attention and flirting of the students and before you know it a line is crossed.

This sort of thing has always gone on. I remember back in the 70's and 80's teachers getting students pregnant and they were still working as teachers. Looking back, I can't believe that none of those teachers were charged or at least fired. Many people might say: back in the old days these types of things didn't happen. Well, they did happen. It just wasn't reported.
I spent more years in school than many others, being kicked out at 20 years of age and have never even heard a rumor of anything like that, and the schools I attended weren't known for being good schools. I was personally in plenty of fights and drank and smoked on school property, had a gun pulled on me, etc, and won't pretend school was a paradise at the time. But while things have gone on since the dawn of time, I think changes over the past few decades or so in the education system overall are immense and have been having a dramatic negative impact on society, and I believe things such as the story in the video above are becoming far more common.
My geometry teacher in 1986 was one of those guys. Got inappropriate with an underage student, but he married her when she turned 18. School didn't do anything about that then.
This stuff happens everywhere. When I was a freshman I heard rumors of my math teacher (a young attractive woman) having relationships with students for grades lol. I was like whatever, these people are lying trying to look cool. 6 years later I’m at work on lunch break reading about her being arrested for inappropriate relationship with a student…. She’d more than likely been doing stuff like that for at least 6 years before getting caught.
@Sir depends on what you consider a child. In this case the “child” was 17. I don’t consider that a child. Hell in a lot of states the age of legal consent is 16. BUT even if your of legal age it’s still illegal for an educator to be involved with a student.
@Sir I’m biased tho. I was 16 having a relationship with a 22 year old woman so 🤷🏽♂️. I turned out fine lol it wasn’t traumatic, I had a great time 😂.
All those complaining about this gal not getting the appropriate punishment are the same folks that put these gals on pedestals, tell them they are the “standard of beauty” and have allowed them to get away with their lies for centuries. So many men have died from those lies. It’s to little too late for your outrage.
Cannot argue but you don't see so many females involved in this sort of thing. I think there are two reasons for that . They either have more sense than to get involved but more likely it's the fact they do not have that thing that rules a mans thinking process in these cases L.E a dick
@@tonyh1345 yeah but women can mentally dominate a high school boy. They are going crazy with hormones, and an older woman, especially a beautiful one with lots of experience can manipulate a boy easier than a man can manipulate a girl.
I became a teacher late in life. I was shocked at how teachers communicate with students and parents electronically outside the classroom. I refused to do it, even though some administrators and parents thought it appropriate and necessary. If I needed to talk to a parent, I called from a school phone and I always returned their calls is they left me a message...at school. I told my students that if you have any questions, see me in the classroom during class or after school. That's it. One female teacher I knew thought it was so great that one of her male high students texted her at 11pm about his homework. Are you kidding me? Another problem is that due to low pay, a lot of teachers are young and inexperienced. We had 22 year-old substitutes who had no business being in a classroom with students not that much younger. Unfortunately, older teachers, especially men, are stigmatized, ie creepy old men, and you don't see older male teachers like you did prior to the 90's.
School in the sixties . No communication outside the school . No knowledge of a teacher's private life . If you asked one on a Monday morning what they did at the weekend you would be told "None of your f------g business". Only knew if a female was married if she was Mrs as opposed to Miss or Ms. To be honest that's the way i liked as in secondary school (UK) i hated everyone of the b------s .
Thank you for the kind words. There is a wealth of people out there in their 50's and 60's who could be wonderful teachers with lots of life experience to share. There are multiple reasons there are not. I had to pay $5000 out of my pocket to get fast tracked to teach in high school despite 25+ years of training experience in the government and corporate word...that's $5000 to take a HUGE pay cut. There was no funding available to help pay for this. I got paid less than people half my age who couldn't control their classes and couldn't teach their way out of a paper bag. @@theendoftheworldasweknowit9894
When I was growing up with DOD schools only saw older teachers and they never wanted to communicate with the students ,,was always let me call the parents
I remember being a child having the mind of an adult. a cute 20 year old female teacher is a blessing for a young man ..... lets not pretend like the so-called innocent boy child didn't know what was happening or also not pretend like he didn't have any control over it.
