Every week, more clarity. And, as someone who's just finished the Major Scale Mastery course with Chris, everything he mapped out in this lesson was clear as a bell. Before the course, this would have been so much juicy information to wade into. After the course, diving into the information is like gathering with old friends. Gathering together....to jam.
So great to hear Meeno...getting that solid context from a course like Major Scale Mastery does so much to smooth out the road for integrating new information. Jam on, friend!
Glad to hear it! The concept of a key is really the core idea to grasp in order to make integrating new information so easy. Glad this one was helpful!
Love your content, Chris! EVERYTHING about your presentations is exceptional! Keep Up the Great Work! 👍🎸☮😎 Gotta' ask... what's your take on the playing of Mateus Asato (and what's up with these guys named Mateus)?
So far, all the Mateus's seen amazing to me! I really love both of them, but Asato really speaks to my preferences a bit more. Incredible players out there these days!
CHRIS, Blues uses Non-Diatonic Theory, are you going to make a Non-Diatonic lesson? a YT lesson about the differences between an Etude and an Interlude
@@curiousguitarist BACH and other classical composers would chain successions of V or V7 or V/V chords back to back which is considered non-diatonic to the key or circle of 5ths but classical composers didn't think is was considered non-diatonic.
I have friends who will try to point out that Paul McCartney never studied theory as a pushback against having to understand even the rudiments, even though it is apparent Sir Paul intuitively knows tons of theory because of his musical genius. My answer is always, "Yeah, but if you were like Paul McCartney, we'd already know it..."
PERFECT! Also, might be good to mention that Sir Paul never had to hold down a job, so he spent his childhood learning to play...all day every day. Then he played in clubs in Germany for 5-8 hours per day for years. If you do THAT, you won't need theory either!
@@curiousguitarist Exactly - only I would say you just absorb theory without knowing it is theory when you play that much and have the thirst and drive he had. And he could do that because God gave him a gift that few have; I could play 24/7 and never come to 20% of what he has.
Here I thought playing the guitar was supposed to be fun. Too bad nobody could ever tell me what I needed to do to make it fun. I guess that’s why I just quit.
@@curiousguitarist besides, it’s so plainly obvious that I’m just too stupid to ever be able to play the guitar with any level of proficiency. If only I had known that six years ago, I could have spared myself all the frustration
