If you look back at older SM boy groups (especially Super Junior, SHINee and TVXQ) they all went through some hairstyles that, looking back at it today, seems almost comical.

Some info about Super Junior - they originally had 12, and then 13 members shortly after debut. They’ve lost a few members over the years but are still active. They are VERY popular in Latin America and chart VERY well there - they have two really great collaborations with Spanish speaking artists, Leslie Grace with Lo Siento or Reik, a Grammy winning artist in Mexico, with Otra Vez (One More Time). For Korean only releases, I suggest Mr Simple, or the more recent Mamacita or Black Suit. They’re from SM, senior group to SHINee, EXO, NCT, RV, and more! Sorry Sorry was a good start - it kickstarted the Korean wave along with gee and a few others!

Super Junior are officially “The Kings of the Hallyu Wave”. They Debut in 2005 with 12 members and then became 13 in 2006 with the addition of Kyuhyun. A lot of what Kpop is today is thanks to Super Junior. They were the very first Kpop group to have a foreign member, (hangeng; he’s Chinese) the first group to have a lot of members (they got so much hate for having lots of members), they are the first group to have a sub unit (Super Junior -KRY ; definitely check them out!). Super Junior really were the first idols to set the standard for idols being MC’s, being Radio DJ’s, exceeding in Variety shows. They even improved the way idols were treated and how long their contracts are & are improving how much power groups have in their companies. The reason idols are able to do what they do and travel to so many different countries & have it so easy is because of Super Junior. They were the ones who spread Kpop worldwide. They were even the very first group to break into the Chinese market. They still continue to break records such as being the first Kpop group to chart on the Latin billboard charts, the first Asian group to perform in Saudi Arabia and much more. They have contributed so much to Kpop yet get so little recognition & appreciation for everything they do. If you want to know about their history I recommend watching “A long ass guide to Super Junior” but as the name suggests it’s a LONG ass guide and due to their extensive history the video goes very fast, so you will have to watch the video while constantly pausing it in order to read it. But it’s definitely worth it!

Suju was the first kpop group with many members 12 members when debuted in 2005 and added an other one to become 13 in 2006 , their company tried to add 2 more members but fans were against it and these 2 members ended being just in Super Junior Chinese subunit . Well now we only left with 9 official active members + 1 in hiatus + 1 who supposed to be in the Chinese sub unit if it ever make a comeback . Super Junior initially started with 12 members, then added a 13th not long after. They were the first to have a foreign member, Hangeng, who's chinese. SM had many issues getting him to be able to perform with the group due to Korean Broadcasting laws not being very clear regarding foreigners performing on TV and the never ending tensions between China and Korea, so he often had to perform wearing a mask. Anyways, eventually he was able to perform freely with the group. Then some time later, SM decided to form a Chinese Sub-unit Super Junior -M and were reportedly adding two more members to the group. This was met with HUGE backlash from Super Junior fans who felt the group was complete as is. They held protests outside of SM building and went as far as purchasing SM stock and threatening to tank the company if they added more members to the group. So eventually, SM reassured the fans that the 2 new members were only added to Super Junior-M and promote exclusively in the sub-unit, so ZhouMi and Henry were added to the sub-group. They were on top of the world, one of the legends that help paved the way for Kpop today. Its been years since they're promoted as a full-group due to members taking turns serving in the military. But as of earlier this year, the last member was finally discharged. They currently have 10 members, 3 have officially left over the years.

Despite all the scandals the members (new and old) are all still really good friends They all have very successful solo careers whether that be on tv shows, k-dramas, singing, musicals etc. they’ve ventured out and are doing great!

Super Junior has been through A LOT!! From being a rotational group whose members didn't know if they would be asked to leave or stay, that's why they all branched out into other forms of entertainment to get their name out like in dramas or variety shows, members leaving, member scandals, multiple car accidents, nearly dying (Kyuhyun), fans stalking (including i believe causing one of the car accidents), If you really sit and think about what they all have been through it's really crazy how strong they are to still be active. Not only has the group been through tough times each member has had something that they had to deal with...

Kangin (he recently retired due to being involved in multiple scandals including having DUIs in the past) Eunhyuk (our expert dancer and I refer to him by his real name of Hyukjae) Donghae (he's been currently writing songs for the group) Siwon (super handsome and my mom likes him) Ryeowook (the little prince) Kyuhyun (the evil maknae) Henry (Once a part of Super Junior M but recently left the group and SM) Zhoumi (Once a Super Junior M member) Recent years due to members leaving and being in the military, we haven't had an actual full group comeback. This year however Kyuhyun, our evil maknae has finished his service as the last one of the group and so hopefully we'll have a comeback with all the current members later this year. They've been a group for 14 years thus far and are in their 30's but still look super young and healthy. Before they debuted sm had had a lot of success (hot, ses, shinhwa, fly to the sky, boa, tvxq) and people were calling them sm’s rejects. They were set to have the concept that nct currently has, to have different sets of members promote, which is why they were initially called super junior ‘05. This song - I think everyone in the kpop industry has covered this at least once. It's still *that* popular. SuJu is one of the few groups that will do harmonies live (just because there are so many members) and they're so good at it. Brief history: SJ was started as a project group where there would be rotating members - SME has said that it was to debut some of the trainees and get them some brief exposure before they moved on to doing other things (MC, acting, solos, etc). Originally 12, they added Kyuhyun to make 13, and he was the last official member added and the project part was scrapped. SJ started the sub-units in the entire industry with KRY (Yesung, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun, the 3 main vocals) and branched out into the Chinese market with SJM. They've lost members over the years, but there's still 10 members officially. They've had some very close brushes with death - Heechul would have died in a car accident in 2006 if he hadn't been wearing his seat belt and his left leg is still massively messed up from it - he had a metal rod on his femur to hold it together, but since he was required to keep dancing, the rod was bent into a curve by the time it came out. (He showed it on a variety show and everyone was basically horrified. It's also why he's only been very briefly in the dances/lives - his leg is really, really messed up - he's stated that he's thought about leaving the group because of it, but the other members disagree, so he stays with them.) The worst one is a car accident that happened in 2007 - 4 members were returning to the dorm in a van when they skidded on a slick road and flipped over. Kyuhyun (the maknae and the one you pointed out at the end) was the most seriously injured with one of his broken ribs puncturing his lung and a broken pelvis since he was ejected from the van. He was given about a 20% chance of survival that first night. He was in a coma for a few days, but it was another 5 months before he could actually stand on stage again. (All of SJ told him that as long as he survived, he didn't have to use polite forms with them - he takes advantage of that.) They began going to the military in 2009 after Sorry Sorry, and SME refused to let them go in a compressed time frame, so it was only this year that they actually finished all of their military service with Kyuhyun being released in May. (Yes it took them 10 years - there's a 5 year age gap in the members from oldest to youngest.) Fun fact about Sorry Sorry: Eunhyuk and Shindong have played rock paper scissors right during the line up cascade dance (it's ~3:10 in the MV) ever since about the second week of performances in 2009. My bias is Donghae - the one that started the second verse and the one with the truly fantastic ass.

They debuted in 2005 and they'll celebrate their 14th anniversary this year. They lost 3 members and 1 member is currently in hiatus. Since 10 years ago, they never complete as 13 cz some members left and other members have to take turns in enlistment. The last member was finally complete his military service this year and now they are left with 10 members with 9 active ones. Additionally, they're a very respected senior in kpop industry because they've got sooooo many awards and achievements and it's not exaggerating to call them legends. ALSO, theres a ballad version of sorry sorry thats REALLY good. other than those i definitely recommend Mr. Simple, Superman, Oppa Oppa, and Black Suit.

Since their debute they've been through so many things, 3 members left the groupe, everyone called them SM's grearest flop and nobody beleived that some day they would reach the top of indusrty. But true fans- Ever Lasting Friends beleived and stayed until the end. Sorry Sorry has made them popular, that song is literally kpop's anthem. After that succes Super Junior dropped such hits as Mr Simple, Bonamana, No other... Until now there are people who still underistimate this group's talent and succes.But after 14 long years they are still continuing to do what they like and can. At this moment 9 of them are active and soon will see SuJu's comeback. I would like to recommend you their new songs, cause you've already watched old one. With years they've began to show group's own colors without 2000s clichè autotune. Right now Suju composes its own music and wrights lyrics for it. There are a lot of members in the group so it's a bit hard to explain in a few words, but they are one of the oldest groups still active today and going strong, they are planning a comeback this year!!! They actually have 3 of the top vocalists in all of Kpop but you can't really hear it with that song, you should try "Evanesce" if you want to hear their vocals. They were also the first kpop group to collab with a south american artist with "Lo siento". I really hope you check out more of them!!! Thanks for another great reaction.
