Apparently he auditioned as a dancer and they were so blown away he was offered the lead roll. There is an interview with ALW and him where they talk about it
Such a priviledge to witness a star rising "sigh" He has such a beautiful voice and reels you in from the first note - thank you for bringing this gem to my attention 🤩
Love it! What a true gem of musical talent. I agree 100% Marc that this young man will have a ‘Tony’ one day! Wow. I can listen to him sing all day long. Love Andrew Lloyd Webber and his musicals. This will go on my repeat list. 💗
Absolutely amazing performance. By you also. I guess everyone can see, feel (and recognize) the reactions from your face :-) - Gawd open up the theatres!
A great song, sung so beautifully and with such emotion. I particularly loved the huge leaps from lower to higher done so flawlessly. Reminded me, in that single aspect anyway, of Dimash Kudaibergen.
I loved this! It's so nice watching someone just enjoy and marvel at something so much. I know next to nothing about singing, but your mention of passaggio made me think of Evita. I'd love to see you react to a clip from that ALW show!
Pleeeease react to one of Carrie Hope Fletchers songs from Cinderella! (or from Les Mis or from any of the other shows she was in, for that matter... 😉😅😍) Love your videos and happy new year to you 😊
You definitely need to react to Carrie Hope Fletcher singing one of the songs from Cinderella! I personally am not a fan of Bad Cinderella, but Far Too Late is a beautiful song, and they way they filmed it is also stunning 😍
u should watch this on ALW's Cinderella RU-vid channel - titled - Andrew Lloyd Webber introduces Ivano Turco. Ivano auditioned as a Dancer and ended up getting a main part. Huge talent.
When I went to see Cinderella one of the swings was playing Price Sebastian and I think this is the song that got cheered on the most! Absolutely incredible. Hope I’ll catch Ivano next time I go 😃
You should react to Helen Sjöholm, she is one of Swedens biggest musical artist. Listen to her when she sings "du måste finnas", in English "you have to be there". I think you will love her!
I love your videos, and I would love to see you do a video where you take musical theater performance techniques and apply them to pop artists live performances. Like Michel Jackson, John legend, lady Gaga, or other pop artists.
The song itself doesn't do it for me, but this dude is great and he has the whole Disney Prince thing going for him both in his voice and his looks! How old is he, he looks super young?
I would DIE if you reviewed Kelli O'Hara and Patrick Wilson's version of "Almost Like Being In Love". Those two, man.... sheer magic. (Also, Ivano has officially ruined me for any tenor in show business who is not Jeremy Jordan or Patrick Wilson, thank you and good night [lol])
Question Marc, did you really think the last high note at Lonely in Lonely Me sound perfect? It sounds amazing, but i just thought it was a little pitchy (but again im no singer just a thought).
Yeah, his pitch and tone are just 👌👌. I will say though, he currently has that sound a lot of people who’ve trained and practiced a lot of vocal technique but haven’t actually had much experience outside of their academic environment have: a kind of overly proper diction and vowel placements that don’t quite sound natural or lived-in.
Can u please do a video on 35mm maybe for the song "the party goes with u" or maybe hadestown fjfjtjrikr I wanna see what u have to say about the music and voices TwT
This kid is amazing! He is hitting that perfect spot where the fact that he is singing doesn't seem to register. Its just like he goes from talking to singing and its flawless. Its what you want in musical theatre and he hits it on the head!
Saw his performance on Saturday and he is an incredible emerging talent. His voice has a Michael Jackson quality and his charisma and stage presence is amazing for someone so young. He only auditioned for a a dancing role but was spotted and ALW said "I've found my Prince" . Carrie Hope Fletcher is sublime. It was a privilege to see this show.
I would love to see you react to either Bad Cinderella or Far Too Late performed by Carrie Hope Fletcher. They're both from Cinderella as well. Quite different from each other, and I personally prefer Far Too Late, but both so good!
I’m pretty sure this guy isn’t professionally trained. I believe singing wasn’t his first choice of career, I think he’s a dancer or something. Pretty insane that he ended up with this role, he has true talent.
Thank you for presenting this song. I watched ALW premiere his other song, and after hearing this, I am more captivated and know I need to see the show.
I think just looking at him singing you want to smile. And then you hear his voice and you're in love. A star is born and I can't wait to see him in the show!!! ❤️ Ivano Turco is a name you won't forget. Thank you for this beautiful video! 😊
I just discovered this yesterday, and it is absolutely incredible. The fact that he is standing flat-footed, not moving a bone in his body and telling the entire story from the neck up is incredible all the while sounding this beautiful.
OK, listened 3 times; Ivano, you and finally eyes closed. So, here we go Professor Patrick. Ivano is gifted with a beautiful voice. He is obviously a tenor who has seriously studied musical theatre and voice. He has a fresh, clean, unblemished, lyrical color to his voice that has grown through training/coaching. Yes, it was noticed when he made that large interval leap when he tilted his head ever so slightly down. I remember my voice teacher teaching me this. It was to psyche my brain into not reaching up but to remember the ease of the preceding lower note and apply that same sensation to the higher note. I believe (could be wrong) that the "lonely" to which you referred was a...diminished octave? Damn...it's been awhile. It sounded like a C# to a middle C. Anyway, my 2 best friends in college were tenors and we all knew of that dreaded passaggio and it was always that high F#. So, with Ivano's lyrical quality that C is no where near a problem for him. And Marc, you did it again. You contributed to the emotion and total experience. I just love how you don't hold back. You reinforce the awe of the total performance. That is why, for me, the third time is the charm when I can close my eyes and be enveloped by what I watched and heard the first two times. Thank you so much! Can't wait for the next class and I am still hoping that one video will feature you.
I agree, Ivano's rendition is absolutely great but it's probably not the hardest song he could pick. I'm pretty sure you can sing it even if you're a bass...
I just had the pleasure of seeing Ivano live in “Cinderella”, and could scarcely believe that he’s even better in person! His voice is rich, powerful & evocative, and Ivano himself is captivating & unjaded. Btw there’s a newer video of him singing “Only You” on a BBC program. Thank you for posting your thoughts on this beautiful ALW triumph. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LJsxoq9t6jU.html
