The new drummer is Kai - he was Jukka's teacher. And I was there - I had never heard of Nightwish before I took over a ticket from someone who couldn't go that night. This song was quite an introduction to the band. And now I am stuck in the army, with no way out.

Kai is a beast on the drums. He is called "human metronome" for a reason! He is not animated like Jukka, but holy moly he is GOOD !

“Yours is an empty hope” is definitely written for floor, she’s the only one who can do the vocals like that 😁

1st song on the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album, the first recorded with Floor. The spoken intro is voiced by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins. You'll hear more of him when you get to Weak Fantasy , Alpenglow, and The Greatest Show On Earth. The 'Beautiful' in the title refers to the beauty of the Earth and everything it offers. Jukka had to step aside from performing in 2014 due to health issues caused by severe insomnia, but he remains with the band in management. He called his friend Kai Hahto , from Wintersun , to take over.

While there is definitely something magical about Wacken 2013, if I had the ability to travel back in time for just one concert, it probably would be this one, mainly for the outstanding setlist. It includes all three of the “big 3” Nightwish songs, and 14 other great songs. Seven of the 17 were written for Floor. The other 10 were written before her tenure. Enjoy the concert!

"7 days to the wolves" is the standout from this show for me

New Drummer is Kai Hahto he took over for Jukka in 2014 because Jukka was suffering from severe insomnia for many years . Jukka is still in the band in management with them . Kai & Jukka were very close friends.

The music before this was written for tarja or Annette now it's floors music written for her to sing can't go wrong nothing she can't sing and nothing they can't play they still play a few of the old songs and if I'm not mistaken poet and the pendulum is played at this concert I think could be wrong that was from Annette era but no one sings it like floor God bless

The drummer is top of the drumworld. Like every band member. Kay Hatho is top. Watch his warming up drum video's. He's fantastic.

Gotta say my favourite thing about this song is the duet\battle between Tuomas and Emppu, so fun to watch and listen to! How they seemed to "challenge" each other to go bigger and better

Erja Lyytinen, a finnish blues guitarist/singer, "The Queen of Slide Guitar” has become internationally celebrated guitarist with multiple awards and recognitions such as Number 2 on Total Guitar´s “World´s Best Guitarists Now” poll and European Blues Awards “Guitarist of the Year” award. She is nominated on Maple Blues Awards 'The Canadian Blues Grammy' and also her guitar solo from 'Bad Seed' is nominated for the best Guitar Solo of The Year 2022 in Guitar World magazine. Everyone bigs up the Wacken concert and it was an amazing performance by Floor so early in her Nightwish career however for my money this is the best produced Nightwish performance on video and has the most amazing set list.

Kai Hahto was Jukka's good buddy and drumming mentor back in the day. Jukka called Kai when Jukka decided he had to stop doing the concert tours and asked if he could fill in. Kai is the human metronome, an amazing drummer, and a transfer from Wintersun. "Yours is an Empty Hope" is Tuomas's slam at internet trolls out there and Floor is terrific doing all the low, harsh growls during every chorus as Marko sings clean above her. Keep these concert reactions coming. BTW, when you finish this one you should definitely jump ahead to 2022. The band, even minus Marko, have been killing their 2022 Human | Nature world tour. As has already been stated, Kai is an incredible drummer. He is a close friend of Jukka's, and Jukka recommended Kai as his replacement, and that was clearly good enough the band. Kai has built up a loyal following with his previous band, Wintersun, so the move to Nightwish was seamless. I can't wait for your reaction to 'Yours is an empty hope'.

It's a front-loaded mix of the new album (at the time) with the post-Wacken undroppables (Storytime, Nemo, Ever Dream, Tears Back, GLS), couple of Annette-era epics, and 2nd album oldie. The Wembley versions of those Annette-era songs are now as definitive as GLS @ Wacken - Poet and the Pendulum and 7 Days to the Wolves.

You have a very nice smile when you appreciate what you listen to....thats very nice. And you know what your are talking about. Thanks. Kai is a killer drummer. one of the very best. And I like Jukka as well. I love each drum-performances he did. very sorry for him to stop performing.

I've seen worse openers, ha ha! The more I watch this, the more I think it might be surpassing Dark Chest of Wonders at Wacken 2013 as my favorite opener. Both are epic, though. Love, love, love Jukka, but Kai is an absolute beast. Lucky to have two such great drummers back to back.

Hi Jeff - it's a pity you don't live in London - I had a spare ticket for Wembley a couple of weeks ago as one of my Brothers couldn't make it - I would've gladly given it to you knowing how much you appreciate them! It was a wonderful gig given Floor's circumstances - she said she wasn't 100% but I don't think anyone noticed - I certainly didn't!

Really enjoy watching all your reactions/information. Only commenting as my youngest (16) and I just saw Nightwish LIVE last week in Birmingham (UK). We travelled 300 miles down by train from Edinburgh and they were Awesome! I've seen them before in Glasgow, but with Anette. On a side note, my son and his brother went and saw Aurora earlier this year in Glasgow (I know you react to her too). Great to be able to see live gigs again. I had heard that the shorts she is wearing are made from Swedish Army pants but I can't find anything on the internet to confirm. They are the same colour and pattern of the pants Sabaton wears in their live shows. I think Floor had met and was dating Hannes at the time of this show so maybe she stole them from him?

We all miss Jukka and his flamboyant stage presence and drumming style. nest up "Yours is an Empty Hope". They are still doing some of the classic old Nightwish songs. However, many more songs from the EFMB record with Floor are performed in this show and going forward. Do your thing Jeff. We love it! Help Jeff out and hit subscribe and like. This is the tour for their album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" (2015) which was the first album with Floor, this song was on that album and so was the next "Yours is an empty hope". The set list is of course a mix of old and new songs, but there are several songs on this list which were not played at Wacken so you will have tons of new songs to react to. Besides the first two songs other songs written for Floor in this concert are: My Walden, Elan, Weak Fantasy, Alpenglow and The Greatest Show on Earth (the finale, can't wait for you to get to that absolute masterpiece), another epic song from this concert is The Poet and The Pendulum. You have so many incredible songs on this list I am quite jealous of you getting to react and listen to them for the very first time...to name a few besides the eipc masterpieces mentioned above. Hold on to your hat on 7 days to the Wolves, it's a banger! Don’t you want to check out Floor doing Phantom of the Opera, on the Netherlands TV show Beste Zangers. She also does two versions of Shallow.

Going through this concert in order, you'll find a handful of repeats from Wacken 2013, which might be good spots to intersperse your journey with other Nightwishy bits and bobs if you'd rather not re-listen. In addition to those songs, there'll be a couple of others that were written for Tarja or Anette to sing originally, but this gig was part of the tour promoting their new album at the time, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" (it's a quote from Darwin because the main theme is evolution, the creation of life, the natural world etc., hence also the theme of the staging). Floor and Kai (the new drummer) were fully involved in its creation. Looking forward to following your trek through this concert too, and I think you'll love the next track!

Fantastic. This concert is amazing all through, and not just because I'm a Londoner. It also has the best performance of one of my favourite NW songs, and one of Emppu's best solos IMO with 7 Days to the Wolves later on in the set. I remember leaving a comment on a previous video saying that in some ways Wacken, as great as it is obviously is as a performance, is just a jumping off point to even greater things. The truth is they never disappoint. Their openers are always on point. Great driving song to start things off with, and they follow it up with another chuggy masterpiece. I predict that you'll have several amazing moments with this choice of shows. Some of the 'big fish' are in this one, and 'Shudder' is a great opener. The layered opening is my favorite element: Tuomas and Kai first, then Marko and Emppu next, and finally Floor. I'll enjoy the journey with you, Jeff.

Hi, Jeff! Enjoyed another reaction of yours! Here are my comments: 1) Some songs were written for previous singers. Shudder was written for Floor. 2) The new drummer Kai Hahto is called "human metronome". :) 3) If you continue with this concert, you´ll come upon the two remaining "big songs" alongside Ghost Love Score: No. 11 The Poet And The Pendulum (14 mins song), and the last one in the set is No. 17 The Greatest Show on Earth (20 mins song). I highly recommend two things: Do some research before listening to The Poet And The Pendulum, read the letters between Tuomas and Tarja that were written when Tarja was fired from the band. You´ll have better understanding of the meaning of the song, and you ´ll experience it more deeply. And the second thing: for The Greatest Show on Earth most people recommend listening to Tampere 2015 version because of better sound and visuals (with a little surprise). Looking forward to another journey of yours! :)

Please take the "concerts route". The only shame about that approach is that I'll have to wait too much to finally get your input on Buenos Aires 2018. After Wembley you have Tampere, even tho they have a very similar setlist, they're different enough to make the journey wortwhile. Cheers!!!

There are several songs from the first Floor album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful, and also some songs from previous albums including one of the most emotional songs ever written by Tuomas just after Tarja's departure as it charts his depression experienced and is very cathartic. Originally sung by Anette but this is considered to be the definitive version where Floor's versatility and empathy is immeasurable. Be ready for The Poet And The Pendulum, song No11.

Hey Jeff, great choice to go for Wembley 2015. Voted for this one (or was it Tampere?). And what an opener! The vocal power is off the charts here. Most impressed by the way Floor is able to reign in all the adrenaline & excitement to deliver these gorgeous & delicate lines at 6:48 And then there's Marko at 7:38 doubling Floor when they become one massive voice.. We were at their Ziggo Dome concert in Amsterdam last Sunday and it was a magnificent show, full of surprises. Still not entirely sold on their current opener ("Noise") though, which is fine, but Shudder and Dark Chest.. hard to beat. Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘

[No longer played live....to have an idea of the what the song m] I discovered them on february 2021 in a reaction video now a fan , with my first concert herher in chile after covid in october 2022. When you are coming up to the last song (The Greatest Show on Earth) I really think you should do the Tempere (Finland) version instead, they are both great but musically and arrangement wise I think the Tempere version is better. If you are not doing both of course 😊

The argument of what version of 'the greatest show on earth' you are going to react is coming... 😅 I vote for Wembley, because of Troy's ebow and Richard Dawkins himself on stage at the end with Nightwish. I think that though, Tampere will win the battle because of the firework show synchronized with the music. Choose wisely my friend.
