Great reaction again! I’m so glad you picked this video, Gergo is a pretty underrated drummer in my opinion, but one of the best of my country (I’m hungarian, too).
In the beginning and in the the middle Mono digged a hole so deep I thought they never could get out of it but they eventually broke the chains and rocketed the whole thing into space! Gergo plays in so many projects, duos, trios, big bands, you name it. Great drummer from Hungary and it seems that he´s a very humble MONSTER ;-) It seems like a lot of these sessions were made in succession over 1 or more days, because we see many other featured drummers/musicians in the audience + I think it´s not easy to get all of these Ghost Note musicians together.
Another great reaction. Gergo has played on literally hundreds of albums of all styles. That said I would say that his uuuhhh, specialty might be a jazz, fusion, rockish blend. He has a couple of videos where he collaborates with bass goddess Mohini Dey that are really a treat. Gergo-to me at least-seems to have really come on to a lot of peoples radar quite recently so we're getting to see and hear a lot of him. Great work and thanks.
Oh my God, Jeff. I discovered your channel last week!! Our taste in music is perfectly aligned. I'm binge watching your past episodes. You've turned me on to at least 30 musicians and groups in the last week alone. One very underappreciated musician from 10 years back is Paul Ortiz aka Chimp Spanner. Paul is a guitar wizard who, like so many of this new generation of prodigies, never got much recognition. Check him out. Thank you so much for doing your part to move these gifted sensations into the main stream.
Here's a link to a Chimp Spanner Video from 10 years ago. He had a drummer back then named Boris Le Gal who was an absolute monster. Like many of these virtuoso instrumental groups, it probably didn't pay the bills so I guess Paul Ortiz had to move on to production and education to make ends meet. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qz53Y0LaNus.html
Larnell Lewis, Peter Erskine, Marcus Gilmore . . . these are my favorite three drummers. And we know how many 'great' drummers there are. Maybe I should also mention Thomas Pridgen.
Hey, check out his new band, called ".godfather". He plays with the most talented young Hungarian musicians and TIbor Tátrai, one of the greatest Hungarian guitar player.
Dear Jeff! You asked where it came from. He is my compatriot, from Hungary! And here are some of the many links that may interest you! Hi! this is an even older formation!
