Echoing many others in saying that if you appreciated this, you will love the many other examples out there of Geoff's incredible vocal range, from that gorgeous tenor down into subharmonics. It's almost unfair to the other members of Voiceplay; they are all immensely talented, but Geoff can overshadow them with the absolutely ridiculous things his voice is capable of accomplishing. And considering your appreciation for the video production, I suspect you will quite enjoy a lot of their videos (vocals aside). Very theatrical stuff, especially the Nightmare Before Christmas covers that they've put out-- of those, Oogie Boogie's Song will likely blow your mind. That's another Geoff-feature, as he sings the titular character, and pretty much owns the song. His solo work is also worthy of consideration; he and Layne (the beatboxer) seem to be the principle arrangers for the group, and the way they tend to break down the music into the various parts show a lot of creativity. I'll be looking out for more reactions to these guys from you.

I recommend Voiceplays "The mermaid medley" and the "oogie boogie song" for Geoff's bass. Their live performance "road trip" is hilarious, i cry laugh every time. Oh, you might check out Geoff Castellucci's you tube channel. All his stuff is amazing. His covers of "high and dry", "blackbird", "sixteen tons" are incredible.

@@gabrielnight6995 I watched Moana again (just now) and you might be right. I'm a Geoff fangirl 😬. In the mermaid medley he's much more present (at least for me) with his incredible solo. Whilst in moana his bass is much more subtle, it's so good.

Geoff Castellucci is the bass here, but like Tim from Home Free and Avi Kaplan formerly of PTX he has insane range. 5+ octaves I believe. His renditions of 16 tons and The Headless Horseman are crazy and really showcase his abilities. He's so nimble with his vocals. He's like a ping pong ball bouncing up and down the octaves with perfect precision.

AJR & VP intersecting = 🔥 oh & thats Geoff, the talented bass. Voice play is going thru a challenging time like PTX did when Avi decided to leave. Voiceplay’s member Earl decided to move on mid 2020 & they are in search of a replacement. Deejay Young (the one standing in the middle) was featured in this video. I think they’re trying out lots of folks but don’t know where they are in the process currently.

Insightful reaction. I appreciate when someone actually takes the time to describe what they're seeing and hearing rather than just offering facial expressions, especially when the reviewer knows something about what they're reacting to. Geoff actually says "majorize" right before they switch to a major key, then says, "bring it back" when they return to the minor key. A lot of great suggestions for other VP covers to react to already, but I would like to add their cover of Imagine Dragons' "Warriors."

people have said all that I'd say. looking forward to more reactions of voiceplay, they're my favorite group. If you like the bassist, he has some phenomenal covers on his channel, Geoff Castellucci. unsure if someone said this already but the Oogie boogie song is the song that showcases his range the best.

Geoff has an insane vocal range. The Beatles' Blackbird is a great example of that! All VoicePlay members are amazing, no doubt about it! I love the run at 3 voices they did towards the end. Don't worry, you won't run out of VoicePlay / Geoff material any time soon! See you around, Jacob!

Geoff Castellucci is imo the best a cappella bass out there (at the very least, he's on the same level as Tim Foust). I recommend watching VoicePlay's Little Mermaid Medley to see a huge display of Geoff's range.

This one took a bit to grow on me, but maybe it was the song itself? For their newer stuff, you should do Carry on my Wayward Son. Really enjoyed that one. Older ones: Queen, Billie Elish or Panic at the Disco in "x" minutes. The videos and songs are good. For live stuff, since I saw you mention that in another video their aca top 10 of various things are all done live

3:14 Well done, sir! A lot of reactors miss what you described there as modulating to a major. They know something different happened, but they don't quite put their finger on it as you did. Geoff says, "Majorize!" and then J.None sings his solo in a major key, then Geoff says, "Bring it back," and the song goes back to the minor key. Good catch!

This was nice! I see you haven't done any VP covers for a while. Last year was incredibly prolific for them. Try "Nothing Else Matters" (Metallica), "In the Air Tonight" (Phil Collins), "Seven Nation Army" (White Stripes) or their epic version of "Valhalla Calling" (or any of their gaming songs). Maybe time for a re-visit?

He doesn't even go as deep as he does in his own music, as well as other Voiceplay songs and remakes. Try all of their others have your mind blown, by voice only. Incredible.
