The idea of value and perceived value is one of the only things I think about. I see two sides ;one is that the entire idea of value is fake and completely subjective the other is a natural self defense mechanism the world 🌍 has instilled in us for survival. Imagine if we perceived Martin Luther king only as valuable as a woman who he might have wanted to date. She might have believed he wasn’t that attractive or rich or tall so his value was not that much. But the actual value of his life was immeasurable because of the change he enacted and the ideas he stood for. Value is a ridiculous human construct that is the reason why 80% of marriages fail. Those people incorrectly “valued” or “judged” each other enough to enter into a marriage that would never last. If they actually knew who each other was then the chance of failure would have been much lower. Most of the people who divorced believed only certain aspects of the other person could be deemed valuable but not the other aspects that might have shown a lack thereof. This ridiculous judgement we cast on each other and then spread to our peers is the problem with this world today. Every time someone says I love u and then later hates the person proves our inability to actually perceive true value. Instead of the judgement of each other we need to be ok being uncomfortable with each others opinions and still work towards truly understanding each others core value. Regardless everytime I hear people talk about how valuable something is I scoff and imagine them withering away on their death bed when they are 90 looking back telling themselves maybe I shouldn’t have valued that person that way after all…. ❤
