Zetsubou is despair in japanese also this song really reflects Death Note a lot and mentions KIRA. Kira kills the people with the death note and that's what you see when they show the random person scribbling in a notebook. Unless you dont already know x.x
When it finally happened I was still like "LETS FUCKING GOOOOO" I watched this original in high school back in like 2008ish. God this is pure nostalgia.
If you want to hear more of Nao, their drummer, I absolutely recommend the songs Shimi and Buiikikaesu. To my knowledge Shimi does not have a music video, however does exist on RU-vid in the form of AMVs. Buiikikaesu does have a music video however it is not on RU-vid and you would have to go somewhere else to watch it.
This song was actually used for the Death Note anime (I think it was the opening or ending? lol I forgot), from what I can break down, the music video is about the protagonist (Kira) switching through different channels on the television and writing down the names of all those other bands/hip-hop artists/etc. on his Death Note (basically killing them), and only leaving Maximum The Hormone alive (not entirely sure about this explanation tho). @@dicodec Don't think there is an actual video for it. There are live videos floating around on other platforms (not on youtube), but for youtube you're more likely to find Dragonball AMV's with it, as it was part of the soundtrack for the "Dragonball Super: Resurrection of F" movie

MTH already had their style at this point. Their style is just really broad. Death Note OP2 was released along this track and sounds like many new MTH songs. And there's even older ones that do.
Heard of Maximum the hormone on my search for new music when I was around 13 I think..? (I'm a huge metal head now at 25) Found these guys and though they were crazy! Then I heard it was feature as the opening for death note so I gave it a watch. Fucking loved it
After all, MTH made their songs in a sense quite obediently IMO 'Hungry Pride' has been a CM song for Cup Noodle, and 'hungry' was the catchphrase of the product. And this song is for 'Death Note', and the MV traces the main plot of the animation. MTH can use several music styles and voices in one song, so, they can express several characters or opinions and let them argue and fight in one song like 'Menkata Cottelee'. So they can also express a development of thought from the beginning to the end in one song like 'Yoshu Fukushu'. And even they can make some kind of a joke skit in one song like 'Alien'.
I think the explanation of this video is that all of them are Kira, and the first ones were like all the people who acted like Kira so that Light wouldn't get discovered and they were killed like Light did with all the characters who acted like Kira so that he stay "safe"

People in the video other than MTH are non famous random people, however acting as people killed by anime character called Kira (≒killer). The song in my opinion was created as straightforward heavy metal rather than their comical way so that it is easier for anime watchers to concentrate / being pulled into death note world. This video is so cool. Other people are dying because of death note and Maximum The Hormone is replacing them, taking over. You can see someone writing in the notebook, news broadcasting chaos, and someone is showing someone's name on TV and then the singer dies followed by everyone else.

Yeah it looks like Death Note because it is the second ending song from the Death Note anime or maybe the first, can't remember they did both an opening and an ending so w/e. So yeah make sense

Like man, that song is from the very same album as What's up people and all other songs. 2007. You should just listen to the full album first and you'll see that zetsubo billy IS MtH sound at its finest. Whole album is insane tho, tbh
@@dicodec In particular, used the way it is in the title, it means the other word (in this case Billy) is "in despair". COD had a Zombies map called Zetsubou No Shima, "Island of Despair".
if you focus on the video, you can see there is someone writing names down on a note. all the people on the first half of the video are real celebrities in japan that catch attention for being pretty, funny, etc. you can tell the video and lyrics are kinda based on death note. sorry for my bad english, i hope you can understand something.🤘😁
As others have said, it's Light killing the poser bands, leaving MH, just like in Death Note. But the others were real musicians/bands. The K-pop was Parfait, for instance.

If you want to hear more of the drummer Nao voice, Golden Guy from their last EP is a good bet. And I guess u could say Vap in a sense though that song is not too hard metal but still a good song regardless

@@dicodec Isn't that what a reaction is, though? When you wanna say something, you say it. Who gives a fuck where the video's at, even if it's in the middle of a subjectively "good" part. One difference between real reactions and fake reactions is that real reactions happen on-the-fly, while fake reactions are just afterthoughts. It's like if something startles you. You jump when the person says "BOO!", even if you're in the middle of something. You don't set everything down and collect yourself first.
