He's not raking his stick across a tom. That is a snare drum that is upside down and he's scraping his stick across the snare on the snare drum. I don't know how he gets these crazy ideas but that is brilliant. Also, he says he doesn't use triggers. That's just hours and hours of practice and good technique.

That quad bass part, isn't a trigger. He uses his floor tom in synch with the base to make it sound as fast as it does

He's not using the quad pedal for this. It's a normal double bass pedal but he is staggering his hits into what we call a gallop beat where I live. Mixed with a tom hit on the third beat to make a string of triplets. Bass, bass, tom, bass, bass, tom...over and over. Pretty common in the 80'/thrash/core metal scene. I remember learning it from Vinnie Paul's playing in Pantera. What is not common is the speed and consistency at what EES does it at. It's.....godly tbh. I've been a drummer all my life and I can say with confidence, he is the best of all of us. Simple as.

the ending part yall are talking about isnt all kicks. Hes doing the 'portnoy' rolls as i call them. Its double strokes on a tom followed by double kicks . hes just so insane thats hes doing both tom strokes with one hand while still using his other hand to do more tom and cymbal hitss..... its so nutsssssssss

1:54 in and I am gonna say that you are right. Digital beat artists should use live instruments in their songs. However, I can't implore you enough to find a rapper that has a band with them on tour and go see that stuff! Goosebumps for the set! Lil Wyte back like 8 to 10 years ago started doing this (and was the first rapper I can remember to roll with a band on tour or really even take a band on tour that I know of). I am not talking about a one off show, their whole tour.

He uses "double single pedals"''. I am not sure of the name, he explains it himself in one of his videos a few months back. It is a device that can switch between 1 hammer/1 hit on the drum per step and 2 hammers/2 hits on the drum per step. He has trained a LOT to master the use, especially the shift between 1 and 2 hammers seems tricky.

when you play 250bpm 1/16 notes your gonna want triggers or its just flubby and inaudible at that speed the hits start to over lap cause the drum cant catch up a trigger will keep it consistent if your good enough to stay consistent

He’s NOT accenting the cadence with a tom. He’s using yet another snare set up vertically on his left side with a kick pedal. You guys obviously like what you hear, which is appropriate, but you have no idea what you’re seeing.🤟🤟
