Musicians react to hearing ATEEZ(에이티즈) for very first time! 

Thank you for the reaction! ATEEZ have their own storyline and lore in their music videos and live performances. This song is the start of their albums set in an alternate dystopian world where no music or emotion is allowed and they are guerilla fighters using their music to free people from being controlled. When they perform this song live the whole stadium chanting "BREAK THE WALL" is such an amazing experience. Other songs I would recommend from them are Wake Up, Dune, New World, and Halazia (only Halazia has a music video). ATEEZ definitely aren't afraid to experiment with their music and in my opinion they have some of the most unique production in kpop.

ATEEZ also released another version of this song that features more guitar and rock elements. It's Guerilla-Flag Version and I highly recommend it. And at Coachella they added a rock aspect to their whole setlist and brought their studio band with them. All of their music I highly recommend they never miss, some B-sides that are amazing are The Leaders, Django, The Ring, or Sector 1. Others main titles Hala Hala, and Halazia, Bouncy, and there newest Crazy Form.

Their storyline is bananas. To cut to the chase, they are time travelling interdimensional pirates. Oh, and they have doppelgangers: There is regular ATEEZ and the Suicide Squad. The setting for this MV is an alternate dimension dystopia called Strictland, which they are trying to undermine.

Honestly kpop isn't a genre, it's like saying "english" or "american" bands. Everyone can find something they like in that boundary.

Perfect group pronunciation, it is like 'From A to Z'. I knew you'd like them, they have different songs with strong vibes, but the storyline is very complicated, it's difficult to understand the story behind MVs, they are all linked. Definitely check out their Coachella performance. They had a live band and it was incredible. One of my favorite aspects of Ateez is all the vocal layering and harmony.

I’ll spell it out more phonetically for English which may help. The “g”’s are all very soft. ATEEZ (a-tease) Hong Joong (hong-june-g) aka Captain Seonghwa (Sung-h-wha) Yunho (yune-ho) Yeosang (yo-song) San (sahn) Mingi (Min-gee) Wooyoung (ooh-yung) Jongho (Johng-ho) The giggle is the trademark intro to Captain's raps. You know it is going to be good if you hear the giggle. Mingi's intro is "fix on".

ATEEZ is one of my favorites. Mingi and Hongjoog (Captian) have a signature before they rap. Mingi says Fix On. Hongjoog giggles and it is awesome. Songs you should check out next: Bouncy, Crazy Form, Wonderland, HALAZIA.

Ateez often puts out very polished musical theatre MVs. Incredible listening, many are anthemic. One of my favorite groups. Ateez, BTS, SKZ, TXT, TheRose, OOO, and a few select others here and there. Each group has a very unique sound.

Pronunciation- like the name of the letter A + tease I think you’ll really like Rocky (Boxer version) and Black Cat Nero. Their Coachella stage included live band for their whole set and was outstanding. I hope you could find some uploads to react to.

ATEEZ "Bouncy" "Wonderland"

I’m on the older side of the fan base and I remember when I was in high school New Kids on the Block was “The IT” boy band of the time. Can’t say I was ever particularly fond of them and now having discovered Ateez I’m convinced I was born too early 😂. As a whole I’m not a huge fan of K-pop , I like a few songs here or there of other groups and only discovered Ateez when I was hunting down either permission to dance or Dynamite by BTS ( two of the only songs of theirs I really like) and I happened upon “Wonderland” by Ateez. It was nothing like the K-pop I expected and I started looking into their other songs. I’ve been hooked ever since. And I can honestly say Ateez is the only group I actively listen to. I consider them their own genre because they mix up so many styles I never get bored, and never quite know what to expect. They also have my favorite ballad of all time and I’m a sucker for ballads. Their ballad “Be With You” is amazing , and if you want to hear their pure vocals that’s a good way to go. Especially their live performances. I could go on and on but hopefully you enjoy more of their songs as well. In my opinion they have a no skip discography which for me is rare as a I remember the days of buying “cassingles” and “45’s” because you were lucky if you liked more than one or two songs off of an album 😂

They have another song with a lot of rock elements called Black Cat Nero. It’s a remake of an older song, and kind of Halloween themed, but they definitely put their own spin on it. There is a music video that features the original artist at the end, but I personally feel that watching a live performance of Black Cat Nero is a whole different (and better) experience than the music video. But the MV is still better than nothing.

Please check out their Coachella performance sometime. They are absolutely crazy live. Also, if you do continue seeing their mvs, know that they have a storyline throughout their vids since debut. Usually, the end of their mvs have a teaser at the end so make sure to finish the vids.

That bridge sweitching into an almost garage band grove is insane. Ateez is one of the only groups that does intense lurching genre and beat changes in their songs and it's successful most of the time. Their transitions are ear candy. So much fun.

These guys are absolutely insane to hear live. Check out Black Cat Nero live or their Coachella performance! Always so fun at their concerts.

There’s WAAY too many good things to say about them so I’ll just say this, they are like NO OTHER kpop group in a league of their own. You will not be disappointed!🎉

I hope you guys check out their song Cyberpunk as well. Also as other people have mentioned you should definitely check out Guerilla (Flag Vers.) it actually incorporates way more guitar into it where you hear a lot of the synths. I honestly love that version a lot more. The alternative/rock/emo to K-pop pipeline is pretty big and most of the people I know that are part of this pipeline really enjoy Stray Kids and Ateez as they are considered part of the “Noise” genre of K-pop. What I think it is, is that we can head bang much more to these songs than some of the other K-pop stuff.

ATEEZ stands for A to Z or A TEEnager Z. It's pronounced like the very first time you said it, not like 80s. Both syllables have even stress; it's a hard t as in 'he is A tease." When the fans yell Break the Wall at the end, they are sooo loud that the members said they can't even hear the music through their in-ears! KQ created a new group last year--xikers. Hongjoong helped write and produce many of the songs on their first two mini-albums. HI! First time here. Thank you for reacting to Ateez's Guerrilla. Their previous World tour was named "Break The Wall" after this song. The Break The Wall fanchant in the song goes crazy - i had the good fortune to witness this live on the tour last year. There is actually a guitar-heavy version of this song in a later EP, The World Ep: Paradigm - it's called Guerrilla (Flag version), which I prefer. There's no mv for it though. If you'd like to listen to other musicians' covers of this song, you can check out those by thatkpopguitarist and Djuni. 🔥 🔥 🔥 The former has done more than 30 covers of Ateez's songs (he's a big Atiny) and the latter has done metal covers of Ateez's Halazia, Guerrilla and Crazy Form. Ateez... brilliant. Really great for non Kpop fans to listen. So many refuse to listen/watch having preconceived ideas of what they think Kpop is. Wish Ateez would tour UK more, US get loads of Kpop groups 😒 Another 2 group are Monsta X and Vixx. Love them both... music is fantastic.

Welcome to ATEEZ! You've already got a bunch of comments on how to pronounce the names of the members, the group, and the fans. So I think you're good there. I also second the recommendations for checking out The Real, The Black Cat Nero, Bouncy, Halazia, Wonderland, and Crazy Form. (Honestly, like many others, there are no songs in their discography that I don't enjoy.) There was someone who mentioned that the "Break the Wall" chant was very loud at Coachella, and they aren't kidding. That was not an ATEEZ concert, so it didn't have the fan base to the same extent that the arena tours do, and yet, the Coachella livestreams at the ENTIRELY OTHER END OF THE FESTIVAL (which is a 15 minute walk away from the stage that ATEEZ was on) still hear the chant clearly. Not only that, but if you listen carefully, you can also hear Jongho's high note in the livestream (he is their main vocalist and the youngest in the group). His vocals are so good that at one performance, their sound system went out and he carried on and fans in the upper tiers of seats could still clearly hear him without a mic. While they were in California for Coachella, he went back to LA in between the weekends so that he could get some additional vocal training while they were there. The whole group is incredible. Seonghwa (the one who came out of the elevator) often does their super high siren voice for songs while Jongho carries the main vocals. Hongjoong can sing most of the different vocal tracks and even covered for Jongho during part of last year when Jongho was injured and had to fly back to Korea for surgery. Yeosang and Mingi have very deep voices, but Yunho can double for Mingi to provide supporting deep vocals when needed. (Looking up their Fantastic Baby cover and you can actually hear how deep Yunho can go. Mingi starts it with a very deep rap, but Yunho takes over for part of it.) Now I'm babbling. Sorry, not sorry. I love these young men very much. They are just incredible human beings and deserve so much more recognition than they have had. I'm so very proud of everything that they have accomplished and while my pocketbook cries because they are finally becoming more well-known and it will make concerts and merch more expensive, I cannot regret that they are being recognized for being as amazing as they are.

Not sure if anyone commented. It is pronounced "A-Tease" and the fandom is "A-Teeny". " Break the Wall " is a fan chant. If you get a chance, look up stage videos of that part in concerts. You can hear the fan chat from outside of the venues. When performing this at Coachella, you could hear it from the other stages. It was/is so loud. They have stated it gets so loud that they cannot hear the backtrack and just go with memory movements or floor vibrations to do choreo while performing.
