The intro with the Gregorian chorus reminds me a mix of Enigma with Nier Automata soundtrack lol The tribal drums rhythm is clearly a tribute to Sepultura, another Brazilian metal band KobaMetal loves so much. This was during pandemic situation and the crowd was cut to halve, only allowed to stomp their feet, clap their hands and doing the classic human wave at arena and stadium, all of them had to wear the savior masks. The third backup dancer in all these live concerts was the avenger Momoko Okazaki (now MomoMetal), a former and talented Sakura Gakuin member, she's 17 in this concert (21 now) and she totally deserves the spot among our goddesses. The East Kami Band in all these 10 live concerts were: ISAO and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Since this is a song that belongs to the third album there's no version with YuiMetal. They usually performed this as an opener followed by Distortion. It also belongs to the Dark side of Metal Galaxy album starting with this set, while the Light side start with "Future Metal and DA DA DANCE". The epic version live at Legend S Baptism XX 2017 it was really special for two reasons, it was SuMetal 20th birthday and in her hometown, visually it was probably even more dope than this but that's just an opinion, both are enjoyable, don't worry the original clip is heavily blocked if you don't put some filters but even with that it can be a risk, this one at Budokan 2021 is a very good alternative choice.🦊🤘🔥 It'll be the perfect moment to play this song at Knotfest Brazil in October and I'll be glad to witness this, i don't think so but it could be a great homage to Sepultura which btw the drummer, Eloy Casagrande, is part of Slipknot now. 🦊🤘🔥

Great reaction - I'll see how much info I can repeat that you were already given.😁The 10 Budokan concerts in 2021 were a big part of their 10th anniversary celebration ... the stage was designed like a huge fiery birthday cake.🔥🎂🔥 The Budokan is 'in the round' - the Kami Band were positioned at points around the stage (for arguments sake say north, east, south and west). 'In The Name Of' was the intro song for disc 2 (the Dark Side) of the Metal Galaxy album (released 2019) ... they used it at maybe 6 of the 10 Budokan shows as the opening ritual ... I mean the opening number #Notacult ITNO made its debut at the Legend S, Baptism XX concerts in December 2017 - Su-metal's 20th birthday celebrations in her home town Hiroshima. If you ever want to see the most epic and theatrical show opener you will ever see, that is the one to watch.

In The Name Of is an intro. It was the show opener that they used on an off during the duo period when they couldn't perform Babymetal Death due to them only having two members at the time. The Kami Band were arrayed around the octagonal fire cake in the middle. They are visible here and there in the video. Although this performance is pretty cool, the version they did at Legend S for Su-metal's birthday is even more grand and crazy than this.
"ITNO" is the intro of the "Dark side" of their third album, Metal Galaxy. And this was the opening number for six of the ten 10 BABYMETAL Budokan concerts held to celebrate their 10th anniversary in early 2021 (you know what happened in 2020...). The song actually reminds me of Sepultura's "Ratamahatta", probably because of the tribal vibe. 🤘🦊
Funny you mention Nightwish as that is exactly who Su-Metal mentions in an earlier interview. Of which she would like to have an all Female Metal festival with at some point. Along with Arch Enemy which Babymetal has also collaborated with. I think maybe Within Temptation and Evanscience may have been mentioned as well. So f*** yea sign me up!! Like “BABYMETAL DEATH” was the intro to the 1st album, this was the intro to disc 2, the dark side, of their 3rd album, Metal Galaxy. 10 Babymetal Budokan were a series of 10 shows in 2021 to celebrate Babymetal’s 10 year anniversary. This song alternated with “BABYMETAL DEATH (Shin version)” as the show opener. #notacult 🤘🦊
"In The Name Of" was an alternate opening number after Yui's departure and they could no longer perform "Babymetal Death". Along with "Future Metal" and "Babymetal Death - Shin Version", these were intentionally made "future-proof" by not having the girls sing while still being able to hype up a crowd. "Future Metal" does have the girls vocals, but was all backing track, not live. Now that we have Momometal, Babymetal Death is once again the standard opening number.
It's funny. You say it sounds like Slipknot, but that is NOTHING like what I hear. I TOTALLY hear Sepultura, Especially Roots, Boody Roots. If you haven't heard of that band or that song, check it out. THAT is what I hear when I hear this song.
