REGARDEZ cette scène !! Le bâtiment. La conception de l'architecture. Le vitrail. La musique ! Une grande réussite artistique humaine Les instruments conçus si parfaitement pour créer les sons qui constituent notre musique. Notation musicale développée comme un langage que nous traduisons en son ! Les archives qui nous ont conservé des siècles de musique ! Les années de pratique et d'étude que chaque musicien et chanteur ont consacrées pour les amener à ce moment ! Je suis déprimé depuis longtemps face à l’état du monde. L’humanité semble être une grave erreur et une malédiction pour la planète. Cette performance me donne un peu d'espoir.

Le cadre est sublime,certes mais, tout transpire ici la beauté,la grâce et la dévotion qui toutes ensemble nous élèvent pour quelques moments au dessus de notre prosaïque condition d'humains du 21eme siècle...Sous la direction de William Christie nos sens comme TOUJOURS,caressent du velours 🤗❤️

GUARDA questa scena!! L'edificio. Il disegno dell'architettura. Il vetro colorato. La musica ! Una grande conquista artistica umana Gli strumenti progettati così perfettamente per creare i suoni che costituiscono la nostra musica. Notazione musicale sviluppata come linguaggio che traduciamo in suono! Gli archivi che hanno conservato per noi secoli di musica! Gli anni di pratica e studio che ogni musicista e cantante hanno dedicato per portarli a questo momento! Sono stato depresso per lo stato del mondo per molto tempo. L’umanità sembra un grave errore e una maledizione sul pianeta. Questa performance mi dà qualche speranza.

Das ist ein unbeschreibliches Erlebnis ein Konzert in dieser wunderschönen Kirche zu erleben, dort über 1 h bei schöner Musik sitzen zu dürfen und die Fenster anzuschauen und nicht wie bei einer Besichtigung nur ein paar Minuten dort zu verweilen. Noch eindrücklicher ist das wenn das Konzert während der Dämmerung stattfindet, wenn man sieht wie sich das Licht und die Farben der Fenster ändern. Das sollte man nicht verpassen wenn man mal ein paar Tage in Paris ist.

Ahlala ! Le mélange des voix hommes et femmes me pose toujours autant problème, mais il faut reconnaître que le Maître gère cela à la perfection.

Bonjour, à la différence de ce qui peut se faire quand on chante Bach ou Haendel, et où des "contre ténors" sont utilisés dans les pupitres féminins, dans la musique française, les voix d'alto (appelées "haute-contre") sont de base prévues pour des chanteurs masculins. Marc-Antoine Charpentier lui-même avait un timbre de haute-contre, et interprétait souvent des petits rôles dans ses propres opéras. L'emploi de voix masculines est donc tout à fait légitime dans cette musique ! Il se révèle d'ailleurs adapté à la population française, ayant un timbre de voix naturel plus aigu que la moyenne de ses voisins.

Cette musique est enthousiasmante.... Richesse du discours mélodique, harmonies à couper le souffle, orchestration sans cesse renouvelée dans l’utilisation des timbres des instruments. En onze mots comme en cent, une babylonienne architecture sonore érigée par d’humbles et impétueux compositeurs-interprètes🌺🕊

Die Aufführung ist prächtig gelungen und eine große Bereicherung, wie überhaupt das Ensemble und ihr Leiter sich um die Einspielung der Werke von Marie-.Antoine Charpentier mehr als nur verdient gemacht haben und beweisen, dass es immer ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis ist, sich diesem Komponist mit diesen Interpreten zu widmen, sei es das Te Deum (wie hier), Missa Assumpta est Maria, Litanies de la Vierge (wie hier), oder Judicum Salomonis, Acteon oder Médée.

Just LOOK at this scene !! The building. The design of the architecture. The stained glass. The music ! A great human artistic achievement The instruments designed so perfectly to create the sounds that constitute our music. Musical Notation that has been developed as a language we translate into sound! The archives that have preserved centuries of music for us! The years of practice and study that each musician and vocalist have devoted to bring them to this moment ! I have been depressed over the state of the world for a long time. Humanity seems a grave mistake and a curse upon the planet. This performance gives me some hope .

These beautiful people are the crowning achievement of a brilliant creator for the Creator's glory. You were made just as these beautiful songs. Fearfully and wonderfully made ...not a curse. En latin classique : te "dominoum confitemour". En latin à la Française (je suis épaté que William Christie sache cela), la prononciation "te dominôm confitemûr" est tout à fait traditionnelle. Bravo !

Vraiment une belle prestation. Cela étant dit, c'est pour moi très triste de voir certains des géants de la musique classique vieillir si dramatiquement par rapport à leur apparence juste avant Covid. Je ne parle pas seulement de Barenboim, qui pouvait à peine traverser la scène à Salzbourg cet été, mais aussi de Muti et, quelques d'autres. Seul Jordi Savall a fière allure pour ses 81 ans. J'ai vraiment peur que seul l'opéra survive, et pas la symphonie. Je m'excuse si mon français n'est pas le meilleur, car l'anglais est ma langue maternelle.

Sicut transit gloria mundi ! La musique baroque reste vivante et se porte étonnamment bien dans une époque qui valorise l’éphémère et le zapping. Nul doute que certains jeunes directeurs, je pense à Shunske Sato, prendront la relève. BTW, your French IS the best.

Fishing for compliment? I have great admiration for foreigners who master our language; its tortuous grammar has given me some headaches at school. Votre français est impeccable. Notre langue est une des plus ardues alors je vous dis bravo. N'ayez aucune peur pour la symphonie, je pense au contraire que cette composition instrumentale n'est pas prête de disparaître, il y aura toujours des adeptes et des compositeurs de par le monde pour nous ravir. Seront-ils à la hauteur de leurs ainés des siècles passés? Ceci dit, je reste une inconditionnelle de la musique de la Renaissance et du Barroque et une grande fan de William Christie.

@@dieguzki yes! Je suis un fan des Arts florissants. J'ai la petite remarque par plaisanterie, mais c'est surtout dans le coffret de 29 CD de Harmonia Mundi 2009 en 70 chefs-d'oeuvre (que j'ai acheté en 2010 chez FNAC à Louvain-la-Neuve) où la prononciation latine peut se faire vraiment remarquer.

My understanding, correct me if I am wrong, is that this particular ensemble was pieced together to match the exact number of instruments and vocalists so that we could hear the music exactly the way it was originally heard and intended even down to the period instruments. It is exquisite.

We visited the chapel several years ago on one of our many trips to explore Paris in depth. The crowd were 'shushed' by a rather extreme priest that this is a ' church'; which it is not. We wern't surprised as we had experienced the same in the Assisi basilica. It is a beautiful place, excellent acoustic. We live in a medieval city in England and it is nice to produce music in our cathedral but, we do need tourists to help fund these places.
