Thanks for posting this . I am amongst a favoured few who have had the opportunity to spin this fibre. Several years ago I was given some sheep’s fleece as a swap for spinning up some of the musk ox fleece . My neighbours at the time used to go to the place where they round up reindeer by helicopter (he being a pilot ) they also had the opportunity to pick musk ox fibre from the fences and brought some home to nz with them at seasons end . It was amazing , just about spun itself . Cheers Pat nz
I appreciate you sharing your video, I am enthralled! To say the least, I never saw anyone do the fiber separation (carding) with those two tools, I really feel humbled to learn about processes that date back to more than a thousand years or who knows how long, I was searching through RU-vid looking for something like wool, that keeps you warm when wet, and qiviut came up , Boy what an eye opener for me . I am kinda confused by the nonprofit thing, and 3.00$ a gram, but I am going to try and get up there and see these places. Thanks again.
