I think we need to consider the source. Elon Musk has not only made comments in the past that indicate he doesn’t give a damn about people, his users, his employees and basically anything that is not himself, but he also manifested and implemented his methods. It’s not clear what’s at the core of this issue but from Elon Musk it probably won’t and can’t be anything really caring about users, employees or people in general. His comments and seemingly caring feelings are exactly that - seemingly. In practice Elon Musk does nothing to protect people, businesses, employees or anything. He is an egocentric dictator whose own words and actions have never been adult or responsible to anyone on this planet except to himself. Whatever’s going on here, I’d favor Apple in this issue to find a way to make AI be safe over Elon Musk who has repeatedly shown the world what an egoistic demonic personality does to take control.
