A performance and tutorial of Mussorgsky/Ravel's Pictures at an Exhibition double bass soli "Samuel Goldenburg and Schmuyle". Performed by Barry Lieberman, former Assistant Principal bass of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Performed on a 17th century Maggini bass previously owned by the famous Stuart Knussen, Principal bass of the London Symphony. Bow by Reid Hudson of Victoria Canada. It’s an E-string extension, allowing playing below the usual open E.
